I don't think I agree with confuscious regarding the greiving bit. He reprimands his student for suggesting that the greiving period is too long at 3 years. Confucious said, "your parents gave you love and care for many years in life and can you now not give them 3 years of grieving?" Well, I think here I would have probably objected and might have responded somewhat in the following way, "Yes, my parents loved me, and I too loved them. But knowing how much they loved me, they no doubt would have wanted me to get on with my life. To live my life to it's fullest and not to walk around for 3 years openly and publically greiving."

Life has no philosophical reason -- and the fact it has no reason has no reason. "Life" evolves automatically and is nature's way to continuously seek a lower state of entropy until eventually everything reaches zero. Anything "alive" does this better than anything not alive. The universe does not care what we do or what happens to us. Human's create all sorts of philosophies in their attempt to make sense of this.

Meaning, purpose and philosophical reasons exists in people’s minds as perceptions and concepts in consciousness, it’s true they emerge from nature therefore they are not trascendental, but they are real and also important because values exists as mental realities that of course has neurological substrates. Your perceptions, feelings, ideas and all mental phenomena are a tiny private part of reality, this part of the universe gives reasons for everything else. Don’t let yourself fall into nihilism.

@@Cotagoras Very true, we live this reality and the emotions are real. Also, we evolved as pattern seekers and can at least understand reality to some extent of its truth in things like math. Wonder and awe? They're reflections of our objective relationship with the world, us being tiny, and it being large and useful to survival. But the emotion is unique and valid. Meaning doesn't even matter in a reality without agents. But with existing entities, they can create and experience meaning. Love means nothing to a star, but it means everything to a human, even if it's origin is arbitrary. Just some thoughts I had 😅 I'm pretty new to philosophy.

When you were talking about Confucianism, why do you portray to men performing Japanese martial arts? It just shows how much the west doesn’t understand eastern thought. I think this misunderstanding has to do mostly with Wessners not being able to speak eastern languages, and come with us, not deeply understanding the cultural background of these philosophies. My recommendation is to do a little bit of studying before you make these kinds of KZread’s!

This video is very misleading in the title... You talk about "Philosophy" in the title but about 'spiritual thought' in the description and documentary... There is no such thing as "Eastern Philosophy." There are "Eastern Religions" but "Philosophy" is a specific method of inquiry that requires that one use LOGIC, and EVIDENCE to come to conclusions. That isn't like anything they did in the East... Thus "Philosophy" is an explicitly and exclusively a western philosophy. I told KZread never to suggest your channel to me again because you either purposely misled with the title, or you really don't even know what "philosophy" means.
