Hello! Catch me showing off some of my awesome vinyl picture discs. I also explain how to care for them and the proper way to store them!
I realize the first record shown is not a picture disc. But, I wanted to show an example
upfront of a record with damage from being stored in a PVC sleeve.
Vinyl records should not be stored in PVC sleeves whether they be picture discs,
colored records or black records. In the video I show that I place the picture discs in clear CPP sleeves. CPP = Cast Polypropylene which is similar to polyethylene. As far as I know, CPP is safe for vinyl records.

i have shape discs for bikini girls with machine guns by the cramps, rats by ghost, and the bat one by specimen and storing them makes me so paranoid
I think the manufacturer Puts the pic disks in crappy vinyl sleeves because they don't bank on anyone actually playing a pic disk, they never sound good and are mainly for hanging in an attic or something like that, pic disks always sound bad.
There is a scam going around on EBay someone selling Masters of Rock and Roll so called pictures sleeves but they are FLEXI discs not thick ones and the tone arm just skips across it completely faulty and breaks the descriptions act too, charging up to £12 a copy as well beware
Would you bag album covers in their shrinkwrap? I have a bunch of new colored vinyl with stickers on the shrinkwrap that I want to keep. I have dual-pocket quality bags to seperate the disc from the covers.

Yes, even in the shrinkwrap I still put them in a plastic sleeve. Shrinkwrap is rather thin and though can give some protection to the outer cover, I still want to give the most protection possible so I would still put in in an outer Polyethylene sleeve.
What happens to picture discs that get shipped in the winter, under 68 degrees?

It takes time to cause problems. If its just for a few days its going to be okay. You do not want to store them for extended periods in a high humidity, high temperature environment in a PVC sleeve as its probably going to cause issues. Not sure about it being too cold.
picture disc are novelties... they aren't made to sound good. they use things to produce records that aren't made to sound good.... thus you get bad sound and residue on them. just collect picture disc knowing this. its ok

Some do sound good and even sound great. Many of mine do. But many don't.

I live for picture discs.
picture discs are basically flexi discs with a picture under it...
Only thing a picture disc is good for is decorating your walls. I learned this the hard way. If you're gonna invest in vinyl, insist on 180 gram black vinyl only.

I've heard picture discs are made from sub par vinyl too.. for looking at, not listening.
The proper way to store them is in the garbage.

I disagree. They have great artwork and some of them sound pretty good. But, not everyone's cup of tea.
