Use a tropical fish to increase treasure loot chance, the lava breaks the bobber when the fish gets hooked and pulls it down. The hopper collects it at the bottom.

Advice for the java farm: position yourself as shown in the video, then hold down the right mouse button and press F3+T at the same time, you should see the Mojang screen, then let go of the right mouse button, you should now just keep casting the rod. To stop casting, open the inventory or press escape.

does't work on Java 1.20.1

Didn't work on Java as intended, but I played around and got it to work. When I hold down the right click it just casts and recalls over and over with the bobber triggering the pressure plate. Instead, right click once and when the lid closes there is a fish but usually the line stays cast and it will catch over and over. Unfortunately, sometimes the bobber sinks down into the water and you have to manually recast. I find that if I open chat (and leave it open) it works for longer periods of time. Not a perfect AFK but if you're just tabbed out with sound on it's ok.

You need to make sure your crosshair is pointed at the note block for it to work.. just done it and it works just as it is meant to

had the same issue. you MUST stand as close the pressure plate as you can without triggering it. then cast so the bobber hits the trap door and falls on the pressure plate. (while making sure your crosshair is lined up on the note block when the door opens) Just did this in 1.20.1

How is this afk? Funny you have to be clicking the button to recast?

I'm not getting the loot. The item always burns up in the lava before it can get into the hopper. I'm on bedrock edition

this doesn't fully work in Java because the treasure loot needs a 5x5x4 body of water around the bobber. you can still catch fish and get XP but no books, bows, rods or shells

In Java it's simple, You just Hold down Right Click then Press F3 + T and yah you have Auto Right click

Does it need to have no block but the sky above it for it to work???

Fish don't typically "exist" within water in Minecraft. Sure, there are physical fish like salmon you can kill and stuff, but those are physical mobs, NOT the fish that are used as part of the fishing mechanic. Those fish don't physically exist, as there isn't a physical mob you're catching. Thus, any water source block can produce 'fish' for the rod to catch. Technically speaking tho you're not catching fish, you're just generating items with your fishing rod from a loot table. And yes, that includes the fish you can catch. They're still technically just items being generated, not actual fish you're catching.

fix for java that worked for me: Place slabs above the chest and stand on the back one, further away from the pressure plate. Face and aim for noteblock, press right click, F3+T. if you press F3+p before all that you can even tab out and it will continue in the background.

yesss this worked for me.

First you don't need a minecraft hopper, 2nd you can use any block instead of trap doors. 3rd you only need 1 sign in front of the chest as long as there is a block on the other sides.

Ignore everyone saying it doesn't work. Just tried on Minecraft 1.20.1, built exactly as he says in the Java Fish Farm section of the video - NOT the bedrock farm on java. You can AFK it by getting an autoclicker program, or F3 + T while holding down right click, or by weighting your mouse. Simple and easy.

The title is a bit misleading. Amazing farms but the bedrock farm isn’t “AFK” if you’re still manually casting. I know there are autoclickers but the only one to truly be “AFK” is the java farm.

On the Java farm, whenever I hold right click the fishing rod retracts before i start hitting the noteblock, making the farm completely ineffective. How do I fix this? I'm on 1.20.1 btw

Look up Wiki. You will know treasure fishing is impossible in such a small pond.

its NOT completed, my lava started fires all around the farm AND IDK WHY BUT MY ENTIRE CHEST GETS COVERED IN WATER, IS THAT LIKE EVEN SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!? AND MY FISHING ROD WONT EVEN POSITION IN THE GOOD SPOT (omg im so stupid, i did the bedrock one on java thinking that the farm works for both, i didnt watch the whole video)

I think in order to get treasure loot the water your fishing in has to be 5 blocks in all directions, there can’t be a solid block within a radius of five blocks

The java one does NOT give loot. That was patched out back in 1.16. You can still get tons of fish and junk.
