STARS - haven't had an opportunity to do inlays yet on my machine but I'm sure glad I saw this video first I look forward to trying it and those sound like interesting bits.

I’m new at this and started playing around with Easel. I find it’s the easiest to get started with and am discovering different tools to use. I appreciate your explanation of the process without rushing it. I ordered a OneFinity CNC due to arrive next month but am questioning my expensive purchase as a newbie. I tried Fusion Pro and others but too complicated for me and not as user friendly. I think I will like doing signs, inlays and patterns for small projects. Do you find Easel meets your needs? Easel meets my needs for sure. I’m not really into 3d cutting because it takes so long to cut. I have aspire too but I always go back to easel because it’s easier for me. Aspire does everything though.

It does not seem like you can make any complicated inlays with this software. If it has any small details as part of the plug it does not seem to allow the 1/2 depth of the wood to stay in tact and just insert the plug. I have been looking at doing some inlays here lately and have not seen anyone that is doing any type of real complicated inlays like you can find on other software.

Should be able to do complicated ones with a vbit

Great explanation. What if you wanted to inlay full depth so it's visible both sides? Wouldn't need clearance cut, but would you use cut inside, on or outside the line for the socket?

Good point. That would be harder to do I would assume. At the price of wood now I’m afraid to waste any trying new things

Ok, I'll have experiment, start inside & work outwards
