Totally agree…. Music is healing. By the Grace of God and Praying music has kept me through many dark times after my son passed and then his father passed. My husband and I danced to this song all the time. I forgot. It just popped in my head today as I was trying not to think/dwell on both of them. My husband LOVED “EWF” He insisted that I carry on and start living because I was…. Still is… just existing after our son passed. I’m honoring his request but it takes intentionally trying every day. This is bringing me good memories and joy 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤭he’s probably listening ! LOL💕💯✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

I saw Earth Wind and Fire in Chicago in 1974 (or 73). I was my first concert and quite frankly, it is still one of my most memorable concerts. We were teenagers at the time and our tickets were free. Our tickets were paid for by the summer youth work program that we were a part of. Great memories!

That ain't Maurice doing that. The blessing of Maurice White is that the music flows through him, to us, and he can't help it, once he gives himself over. That's the music moving him! And, we're the ever-grateful beneficiaries of God having used this man to deliver such TIMELESS beauty to the world.

This music by Earth, Wind and Fire.. transcends all the scale of music and beauty. Thanks for all the beauty you have given with your music. My eternal gratitude to this amazing group. This song is special to me. This EWF recording was released on an album from 1972 was titled "Last Days and Times". Jessica Cleaves sang on this LP. She was once a member of the group Friends of Distinction. The song was written by Pete Seeger of "Peter, Paul and Mary" and it was written in protest against the Vietnam War in the late 1960's. I was in high school at the time and was worried that I would be drafted and shipped off to war. I was very fortunate not to have lived that experience. I did loose some friends from high school and my hometown to the Vietnam War. Every time I hear this song I think of those whom I knew and died in Vietnam. Thousands of soldiers and who came back home were wounded and psychologically damaged. The lives of the soldiers and their families were forever changed by the experience of war. I know, because my father was one of those soldiers.

The greatest R&B group of all time. The Beatles of R&B. Maurice was Paul and John rolled into one. A genius producer,arranger,musician and vocalist, who proved musical sophistication and musicianship can also be commercially successful. The GENIUS OF MAURICE WHITE!

Phil has a massive voice. One of my all time greats growing up as a teenager. It's funny because listening to these back in the day...no you tube vids then, they were just singers on vinyl. Who are these guys I thought! All part of the romance of that era. Pure magic. The way of the world magic. Listening to Maurice bringing this great song together with the crowd is poetry in motion. 😜
