I sometimes feel like I was born in the wrong era because here I am listening mainly to music that is 2x or 3x the age I am and also wishing to go back in time to watch them perform. The artist of today will never match them. They are the best!

Wow, I wrecked my brain, in an attempt to make you feel better. However, I wasn’t able to find the words. Those of us fortunate enough to have seen them live during the 70’s were truly blessed! Saw them ‘75 “That’s the way of the world tour” Jan ‘77 the “Spirit” tour. And Dec ‘77 the “All n All tour “ . I really wish they had their concerts on tape. My suggestion, is check out the “live in Rio” Good speed.

It looked to me that he had just greeted friends there for the show. No one else around me seemed to recognize who he was. But I did. So I approached him, shook his hand, and told him how much I loved him and the band, and that was it. My girlfriend at the time got a hug and kiss on the cheek.

May Jehovah be with your family, friends and your fans, they are millions of new ones, see you in Paradise. thanks again EWF.

I was reading something about Earth Wind and Fire from the 2000's and it did noit mention Maurice White as a lead singer since he probably had been sick for years by then and not a member of the group. But since I grew up in in the seventies I remember them from the Gratitude album moving forward so I definitely knew he was the leader of the group. It is amazing how time changes things.

Dorothy Williams Maurice founded and assembled the group. He also taught everyone and wrote most of the lyrics. He was a genius. I made friends with him in myspace in in the late 2010 while I was in the Army's wounded warrior. I grew up with their music in the 70's. Not the same without Maurice and original band members. They still had a lot of them that year with Wolfolk. To me the last of their great band was in 1983
