I have this Cd These Songs Live For You And More. I was a huge Donny Hathaway fan as a teenager. I remember when he completed his suicide. I laid across my bed and wept!!! I still play his music regularly to this day!!!
I studied every note he sang on his Best Songs album. Tried to cop it note for note as a singer. Listened to it for years and years over and over. Still do sometimes. He's one of my favorite singers of all time.
You know when a guy sounds THIS FANTASTIC on a live show his voice, undeniably, goes down in history as one of the greats. And major props to the band. Go listen to jelous guy a john lennon cover. It gets me everytime like i want to fall in love and die at the same time. He really took it to next level in that live performance ❤

Donny Hathaway is the music of my era. "The Ghetto" is, like the kids nowadays say, tight.
That was one of the most remarkable music footages I've ever seen and heard regardless of genre. Simply outstanding.

Bot. The "heard regardless of the genre" tips you off.
I've jammed on this groove so many times in the last 50 years . A personal favorite of mine .
holy moly the groove!?!?!?!?!?! the class, the dignity is supreme. What a champion this guy is! there are no words to convey what DH is doing here, what He is speaks so loud you cannot ignore what He is saying.
Go Donny & The Gang! RIP and Thank You for dah Vibez
