Such a pleasure to listen to……again and again.
Hopefully Mr. Lightfoot heard Darwin's excellent version before he left this planet.
Darwin puts emotions into words. I love his work.
Bob Dylan said last week, "Gordon died without ever writing a bad song. "
Darwin you nailed it. Gordon would be proud.
I just bought 2 Gordon Lightfoot albums at a yard sale this morning for $2 a piece! I almost feel like I hit the lottery. They were barely played and still in the shrink wrap! Great version by the way!
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for honoring Gordon, in my opinion the greatest singer/songwriter who ever lived. I saw him in concert 35 times, and was honored to meet him after a concert here in Chicago a few years ago. He was kind enough to pose for a picture with my wife and me.
I moved from my home to the coast for work when I was 18. This song brings me tears because it completely describes how I felt as a kid, stepping into adulthood. Such a great rendition. Bittersweet memories. Love it!
A Canadian legend. RIP Gordon Lightfoot 🇨🇦
Brilliant tribute to the late Gordon Lightfoot.
Dar gets this one exactly right. He does my favorite vesion of one of my favorite songs. RIP Gordon Lightfoot - you left an incredible legacy.
This rendition is the best I've ever heard! Kudos all.
Like butter...
Thanks Darwin and F&F for this tribute to Gordon Lightfoot. And yes, Darwin kinda sounds like Willie Nelson.
Absolutely amazing! Great vocals, great band, great song to cover. TY F&F!
By far, one of the best covers you all do. Dar - your voice is absolutely perfect for ballads and Gordon Lightfoot would be honored by your performance!
Darwin brings it with great vocals and perfect pickin’. Great job.
Love the depth & tone of Darwins voice. And his guitar playing is fantastic!!
Jeeze, It just does not get any better than this folks. Wonderful !!!
Groups like F&F will keep great music and songs like this alive forever. Thank you! RIP Gordon.
More of the fossils, please! The old guys have so much skill and soul.
Gordon Lightfoot will be dearly missed. Thanks for this tribute to him.
A big thank you for sharing this. Obviously we must also give a big thank you to Gordon Lightfoot for writing (& recording) this song
This is an excellent tribute to Gordon Lightfoot, carefully crafted by Dar & fellow Fossils!
As with me and my wife, my late father-in-law was a huge fan of Gordo. He would be chuffed to know that they are both interred at the same cemetery in Orillia Ontario.
Just amazing. I have probably listened to this at least 25 or 30 times.

At least......
Y'all are the best cover group ever. And in any art, perfection is a lost cause, but you are the closest I've found.
Thank you for remembering him and helping us remember him better. At least one old soldier, me, considers this cover a "full military" sendoff.
Losing Gordon Lightfoot was such a loss. Thank you for posting this cover.

@@Brucev7 I saw him last fall. I have mixed feelings about seeing him. On the one hand, I am glad that I got to see him before he passed away. On the other hand, due to his age and declining health, his performance was negatively impacted. I think somebody should have told him to retire sooner than he did.

@@ctarabocchia You think, after hearing he was in the Hospital, and he was on a Tour, if he was trying to milk every last minute of his temporal life on Earth. It was around 10 yrs ago, when the concert was. You could tell much time had lapsed. But, as someone else posted, "He was very down to earth and personable."

I respect who he was and what he was. If you can’t see past what age does to all of us it’s because you’re too young to understand. If you’re lucky, you’re time will come. A life doesn’t get frozen at a certain age. It evolves. You might get to decide when it’s time for you to quit. Don’t judge the choices made by others.

@@Brucev7 I last saw him in concert 2011 in Canada and he was in good voice and after the show before he left he talk for about 20 minutes. It was in Cornwall Ontario.
Great cover a great artist we lost. RIP Gordon.
Beautifully done. RIP Gordon Lightfoot. God bless all here.
I first heard this performed by The Kingston Trio, then about three years ago Gordon Lightfoot came to the Maine Center for the Arts and performed all evening to perfection. Of course this was part of the performance, but Gordon sang just about everything for which he is remembered. Simply the best, finest concert I've ever attended - bar none. He opened the second set with "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", note for note sounding like a perfect recording, but very much alive. He is quite justly regarded as a Canadian National Treasure. God bless the time he wrote, sang, and performed amongst us. Darwin, you did him justice. Yours too, was a fine and soulful performance. This is just great band.
Thank you for honoring Gordon Lightfoot with this lovely cover.

Beautiful tribute to one of the greatest we ever had among us. RIP Gordon. We all miss you.
Dammit, Darwin! You either making me cry or laugh. You’re a beautiful, emotive singer and I just love you to bits.
Yup. That's a home run...
Beautiful job! Gordon would be proud. Rest in Paradise ❤
Awesome!
I'd like to think Gordon will now smile and tap his angelic foot every time he hears Darwin sing this. Very nice harmony, Darwin and Tim. RIP, Gordon... Thanks for posting!
When I hear Peter, Paul, and Mary sing this song, I stop what I am doing (including driving an automobile) to listen to it.
His voice sounds like Willy Nelson. Wow. What a performance. Love it

Stunning as always. RIP Gordon Lightfoot.
I am crying as I listen to Darwin sing this song so beautifully and with so much heartfelt emotion. Now my absolute favorite version of this Gordon classic. Thank you! Sending hugs to all F&F!

Such a perfect version of the great song. Where are all the musical poets today? The Denvers, the Lightfoots, the Dylans? Where are they? Seriously. Are we that fucked up in this country?
Great live performance by Tim, Darwin, Richard and Johnny. It was the first encore song, as I recall.
What about those vocals? Beautiful!! What a moment for the ones watching it live!! 👏
Saw Gordon lightfoot many times at the old Massey Hall in Toronto in the 1970's...just fantastic. F&F do a great version of this song.
What a lovely version of a great song. Darwin sounds a bit like Willie Nelson, and that's a big compliment.

Thank you to one of Canada’s most precious gems! 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
This video is a great tribute to A great singer song writer.
One of F&F BEST to date that I have seen already in my playlist thank you from Buffalo NY
Beautiful! Thank you
Nice tribute to Gordon Lightfoot, a true storyteller. He will be missed.
I meant to mention, I like the little bit of Neil Young and Willie Nelson that radiates at times from Darwin's voice. Yet he has his own distinct style, and I am not saying he is copying them, I just happen to like that similarity when it pops up. Great job everyone!
My favorite Gordon tune, well done. He will be missed.
Darwin and Tim nailed it!
I'm old enough to remember this song sung by Peter, Paul and Mary. It's the version that strikes a chord in me yet today. I didn't realize it was written by Gordon Lightfoot until just now. But I'm blown away with this F&F version sung by Darwin with harmony by Tim. As always they make every cover they do start a new life.
Great tribute to Gordon. Hauntingly beautiful.
"That Darwin" lol💓 and Johnny on drums !💓 Great tribute to Gordon Lightfoot

One of my favorite Gordon Lightfoot songs. Always reminds me of my brother and my early days in the Army. Great rendition; you do it with finesse and emotion. Thank you

A beautiful tribute to an iconic singer songwriter who was very much loved by many fans 💕💕💕
I knew Gordon. Always joked about our name being the most Canadian of names. Beautiful job. Big G is smiling.
Great tribute to Gordon Lightfoot. It really hurts to see these great ones pass on. You'all are keeping their memories a live.
Darwin what a great musician
Sublime performance and very appropriate after losing Mr. Lightfoot, a giant.

I love Darwin's voice. He is a cool guitar player and can sing!
Beautiful rendition. I’m sure Gordon is smiling.
Being Canadian & in light of Gordon Lightfoot's Death - Memories just flooded into my brain. I just wept. Reading the comments - I am not the only one that wept. Thank you Darwin and Fossils. It was such a beautiful rendition of the song.
I remember being in Georgia on a Sunday morning in a fine misty rain being lonely as hell. This song always takes me back there and I hope I never ever feel like that morning again. Good job, guys, and, of course, to Gordon who passed just recently.
I have to say it: the foxes were the hook that got me watching y'all. But this is hands down my favorite song you've done--I love how the original video was posted with a disclaimer about there being no foxes : )
Wow! Beautiful! I’m so glad you continue to bring beautiful music to the world. Don’t ever stop.
This does the wonderful Gordon great tribute..
Loved it. Gordon Lightfoot has always been a favorite. Super cover.
That is a wonderful rendition of Gordon Lightfoot's song. 😀🤩
Outstanding performance by Darwin!
Darwin’s voice is as smooth as Tennessee whiskey. Beautiful!
Fantastic Job on this Gordon Lightfoot song. As a Canadian who was lucky enough to see Gordon in concert, I think Mr.Lightfoot would have given a thumbs up to your interpretation of his song. Well done all.👍👍🇨🇦
Nice job Darwin
Just friggen awesome!
the whole concert was amazing!!! wish I could have seen it live. This is by far my favorite version of the song.. Vocals and instruments were fantastic,
Every adaptation by you folks…. Foxs is just gold. Did all folks know that the day Gordon passed, the Great Lakes Mariners Church in Detroit rang the bell 30 times & shall continue to do so for every commemoration of the Fitz sinking. ❤ our men, ❤ Gordon.
I have listened to the F's&F's July 4th version of this song a hundred times over the last couple years. Never thought you could improve it, but you certainly did!!! Gordy would be so proud of you Darwin and Tim.
I think Gordon would be flattered and pleased. Wonderful job!!
All fossels and foxes numbers are better (much better) then original artists official videos ... whew! Keep up the magnificent work ... such accurate timing, harmony blending, etc
That was incredible.
I can’t listen to this without tearing up. Thank you F&F
