Eagles - The Whole Story 4/13 - Go Wild

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Bones like honeycomb, skull-filling eyes, wings the length of a piano, a neck that turns almost full circle, the keenest vision of all vertebrates. And built to kill. The eagles of Africa are impressive.
Mighty birds build mighty nests. Whether perched on dizzying mountain cliff or high in the forest canopy, some lofty eagle homes can weigh as much as a family car. Generations may grow up in the same nest, carefully refurbished and re-used year after year for decades.
Over forest, desert and mountain, the monarchs of Africa’s skies soar on the thermals, scanning the ground for prey with eyes that see over twice as well as human eyes. From mice to full-grown bushbuck, their food tastes range wide. Some dine on large fish - airlifting them surfboard-style in deadly talons. Others swoop on prey over four times their own weight. While some tuck into fruit and nuts!
Discover the surprising world of eagles, Africa’s majestic aerial predators, in “The Whole Story”.

This blurb above and the graphic images of this video are misleading in one respect. This is about many eagles, not just those from or in Africa. There is a long section of the Black Eagle (Ictinaetus malaiensis) which is not found in Africa at all. It is native to India and places to the east. And yet the intro says the filming was done in South Africa!

The Black eagle featured in this film is most certainly a South African species, 'Aquila verreauxii', and obviously a different species from the Indian Black eagle. Same common name. The Afrikaans name is much more explicit: Wikruisarend, meaning 'white cross eagle' from the white 'v' on the bird's back.

I recently got the bird of my dreams a harlequin macaw youd never think macaw are related to birds of prey but he has so many similarities to an eagle the hook bill that's sharp the flat head the eyes sight and talons....I don't like that ppl clip the wings of any parrot the only way I could keep a bird like this is to create as natural a life as possible it's still not close but its closer than most pet parrot I I trained him to free fly I put a couple of clips of his training on my KZread channel I'll be adding more video when it gets a bit warmer as it's two cold to let him out right now I still let him out for a quick fly weather depending come hot sub I'll be forever getting 1000 subscribers...lol I've 70 something bring all you know to sub lol make your family sub on there new devices they got for xmas..and I'll be raising a green wing macaw chick this spring which I'll upload...hope to see ya there..if you come tell me where from in the comments..
