Owls are so _quiet_ it is *amazing.* I was walking in Utah when I was younger and at that time the ground was covered in snow. As I walked, a damn owl flew right over me, (from back to front) dive bombed into the snow and grabbed some sort of mouse. (At least.. that’s what I remember) After the startle the owl gave me, I stood there in awe. I didn’t hear a _single_ _flap_ of the wings. Said owl was the reason I fell in love with them that day.

I'm Australian. Once as i sat under a tree enjoying a ham and salad roll for lunch a kookaburra silently swept down and deftly extracted precisely the ham from my roll, literally as i was lifting it to my mouth. Was over in a flash, all i heard was the flurry of it's wings as it was mere inches from my face. It flew up to the tree, gobbled the ham and proceeded to laugh at me with the well known call they make. I proceeded to enjoy a salad roll for lunch that day. Kookaburra 1 / me 0.

That's just your pattern recognition drawing a false positive. Evolution through natural selection is the explanation of a series blind set of laws that describe how life adapts over time in order to survive through decent with inherited modification, by modifying existing structures present in a population and refining them to fulfill particular needs. It has no overarching plan or goal or intent; in the same way: a ball rolling down a hill has no intention of its own, only the forces of friction and gravity and the laws the describe.

No other video seemed to know what the female continued to put fresh live branches in the nest well after hatching 🐣 & now it makes perfect sense for camouflage purposes... Duh! Why didn't I think of that. I feel so silly now. They all thought maybe freshness or antiseptic purpose but never came up w/camouflage. Crazy 🤣. Can't think of the other things right off now but again Awesome job on the video. I'm excited to see many more. Bees were my first & this one's my second. The 🐝 video was Awesome as well. Lot's of new stuff I didn't know about wasp & 🐝's Keep up the great work and Thank you. Watching from, NW Alabama, U SA!

We get a lot of golden eagles in Tennessee also. There was a family close to where I used to take my family by the Tennessee river by Signal Mountain, and we watched each other grow. They remember you, and hang out close by on purpose. I got to watch their kids grow into flying adolescents, and the dad teaching them to hunt, and then the adolescent eagles thought they were all that and wouldn't share, and get in arguments with the parents. Swear to god, just like us! OK, I'll quit. I'm in love with goldens.

Hollylivengood Hello, I was reading your comment and maybe I shouldn’t tell you this because I know you don’t want to hear it so I’ll tell you just for the sake of your own knowledge about Golden Eagles. If you will google “range map for Golden Eagles in North America.” You will notice that they are a rare winter visitor to Tennessee and they don’t breed there at all. I have no doubt that you saw a bird of prey raising their young but it would have been a hawk of some kind. Golden Eagles are a bird of the West. I live in San Diegp and we have around 45 pair of them living in the county and I am part of the team that monitors them. Identifying birds is confusing at first and it’s easy to misidentify them. Golden Eagles also are very shy of people and build their nest as far away from people as possible. They don’t let people come close to the nest to observe them either. The parents will not stay in the nest if someone approaches it. Instead they will fly a good distance and observe until you leave the area and then they will return to the nest. If you search KZread for “Golden Eagles of El Cajon Mountain” there is some footage of a pair I monitor. I hope you’re not angry about what I’ve told you instead I hope you learn from it. I would also recommend you buy a field guide that will help you to learn more about the birds that live around you and how to identify them. Enjoy Birding Dave

Edward......Evolution is a "known process" and does not require "a sophisticated mind" so even you should be OK. There is evidence of evolution all around you. Dogs are descended from Wolves however they are not all the same. Man by selective breeding has bred dogs as diverse as the Dachshund to the Great Dane to perform specific jobs. The same applies to flowers, tropical fish, and cereal crops and many other species. We are now able to improve specific characteristics such as drought or disease resistance etc. DNA is understood and divergence of species from common ancestors can even be dated. These processes have been occurring naturally for millions of years.

They talked about how birds of prey impact on a “Global” basis, but yet the scope in which they looked at these magnificent creatures was relatively “small”. They did not talk about any of the North or South American birds of prey, no African or Asian. It was completely European and a large present of that was Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. I just don’t think you are doing justice to “Birds of Prey” in general when you say “hey we’re going to talk about the prey birds” to either children or uneducated people and you don’t even briefly mention the others. It CAN mislead uneducated people young or not. When we educate we want to be doing it fully not only turning half of the lights on........
