@@huntbatchinsurance4920 Eagles can carry 20 lbs and momentum plays a role. Since the bird swooped down at a fast speed and got the boy and didn't carry it very high it is very capable of doing what it did. Remember the eagle messed up his talons when he did this.....

God will supply this memory. My mom remembers many many details of her mom. Her mom died while breast feeding her when she was 8 months old. She does remember on her own; NOT thinking she remembers due to others talking or telling her and she THINKS they're her memories.

I saw a story recently, where a man saved an eagle in the ocean, and he placed the eagle up on top of the deck of his fishing boat and fed the eagle a fish. If you weeks later, he and his wife were sitting in their backyard when an eagle swooped in and dropped, a large live fish in the backyard and flew off. They actually had the video from perhaps a security camera showing them sitting in the backyard and the eagle dropping the fish. Absolutely amazing.

Even largest eagles could not lift a TODDLER and fly off with ease and then, even if it did manage to lift a Child, it would NOT be able to do it WITHOUT Piercing it's CLAWS in to the Child and, badly injuring him and possibly killing him. Even if it did manage to lift a Child, the eagle would not be able to land on a tree with something so big and, the Child definitely will fall in the process. The bird would have to land on a flat surface.

What a beautiful, fiercely proud bird the bald eagle is. How they managed to straddle the fine line between making him tame/too dependent and keeping him free, while caring for him when he was severely injured, is an amazing story and lesson to us all.

WoW! Such an amazing story whether true or not. It just goes to show that even wild or somewhat wild are able to show their gratitude fir the kindness of people like this couple and their toddler "Ralph". If everything happened as it is said to have in this story it shows that even wild 'Bald Eagles' have the capacity to love and are in some ways self-aware. This was proven in this amazing story of how one of nature's largest birds/winged animal save the life of one of his own. That 'Bald Eagle' absolutely saved that boy's life. 'Rocky' the bird was more trusting this time and once again allow certain humans to help heal the talon injured during his. This is a story that should inspire all who read it. All the way from the human couple who helped to free an animal in dire need and then repaid his service by saving the toddler ,Ralph, from certain death had he not been snatched up and away by the now famous Bald Eagle they named Rocky.

Birds in general are so much more intelligent than common belief. Its only being revieled recently, but even our "flying rats" are capable of abstract mathematics. Also, smaller birds than eagles have proven self awareness.

Proving again animals have empathy. We had a magpie that couldn’t fly, broken collar bone. Most other magpies would try & kill him, but this one magpie became friends with him. He’d visit nearly every day. Our pedestrian magpie went missing. We looked all over the neighbourhood. After about 3 days I noticed the friendly Magpie sitting atop a power pole. I said to him, arms outstretched, ‘where is he?’ With that the magpie flew to the next pole. I followed. Then it flew to the next & the next leading me into the next street. All of a sudden it flew down behind a house. I ran home & told my Dad I know where our magpie is. We both went back & knocked on the front door. An older man answered & said he indeed had a flightless magpie in his yard & he wondered how it got there. He also said the other bird visited it everyday. So our magpie was brought home, happily went up into his tree via his ladder, the other magpie turned up & they sat on a branch together singing their heads off.

What you perceive as empathy isn't the same thing in the animal world. What you think is his "friend" or their emotions is totally your own context and thought by applying your human emotions to the animal. In short, you can't compare your emotions to a magpie.

​@@darlenequinn193 I have seen Eagles lift quite a lot more than 3 pounds but, it certainly could never lift a CHILD without stabbing him/her with it's CLAWS. And then again, it would NEVER be able to land the Child safely on the branch of a tree, it's simply, impossible.

I heard a similar story, but it was a rescue Doberman that saved the kid from the snake. They had the dog for about three weeks when it picked up the little kid in his teeth and tossed him across the lawn. The mother thought at first the dog was attacking her kid. Turns out a rattler was in the grass, bit the dog instead. They got the dog to the vet and he survived. The snake was not so lucky.

LOVELY story. Similar situations happen a lot out in the country. (1) We were tearing down the old homestead house years ago, and found 4 baby white owls in the ceiling. We had an old chicken coop without a roof, so using leather gloves we relocated the young birds there. The mother did come back and took care of them, and the last time I checked on them the babies were old enough and could fly. (2) Another time we found a stunned hawk, it didn't seem injured when I went to pick it up with cloth gloves. The hawk's talons went right through the glove and scratched me, but I got it onto the back of the truck and checked out, nothing seemed broken so I carefully righted the bird onto my jean jacket arm and carefully carried it to a diesel tank with railings where I carefully put it on the top railings. Since it was already dark and getting darker we left it there and the next morning we saw it on the diesel tank and when we went near it the hawk flew off. Later generations of the owls (rescuing them was over 20 years ago) still are in the area. The hawk still shows up when I am using the tractor to mow lay-out land, and I see him/her and other hawks show up and hunt for rodents while I am mowing. They show no fear of me or the tractor, and only move when I get too close on the tractor with the pull-behind fold out mower.

Absolutely a miracle from God his animals can do amazing things for humans. Let’s all keep that in mind. Thank you all for what you shared with me. God bless you in Jesus name.

I live adjacent to a Federal Wilderness Area. I also have regular visits from bald eagles. My home sets at a bluff line and I can stand on my back deck and look directly at the canopy of tall old growth. Eagles perch just meters away. They are huge!

Love animals One thing to ponder: When an animal is adopted It understands us in a short period of time another species That does not even speak human. What they first thought was a horrible thing had happened to their baby....was quite the opposite. Birds are smart and have emotions. He saved that little boys life from being bitten by a rattlesnake. Amazing ❤❤

Pain certainly can make any of us grumpy! Love hearing how animals ( a bird ) remembers when they were once helped by a person, and shows up years later to reunite, and as in this case help in return for how they were once helped. ❤

Not just an amazing story but, a Great Fairy Tale.

​@@bertclarke2055 Eagles can lift a Child but, the bird will have to pierce the lifted object with its CLAWS to get a grip on it. In this case here the CHILD would be badly INJURED from the Eagles Claws.

What a wonderful story! No wonder it’s our national bird!
