@@Villagerbluewheelsunflower cool. Yeah label the connectors so that you dont switch them around between bank 1 and 2. The oxygen sensors are the same with different legght wires front vs rear. But the dme’s wiring harness i labeled. I dont know if oossible, but try and installt he sensors front and rear before you install the pipes finally. Once the pipes are installed theres not much room left to install the sensors. The rear sensors are definitely doable but im not sure the front sensors can be installed before installing the headers. They should be but i didnt try

@@Villagerbluewheelsunflower and in my case the shortened bolts they sell werent needed! It was alot easier to clean the gasket surface on the heads with the pimbolts removed though And make sure you have the time and patience lol. Ive been told the fitment is hit or miss in terms of the headers. And the pipes that goes underneath the car definitely will need adjustment below the gearbox support brace Im gonna redo mine and go down in tube size below that support bracket to be able to route them better as well. Consider doing that instead the hack job i did in the video lol. They sound good, and they perform great. Most likely the best power adder you can get Rear o2 sensors will probably throw codes after some time due to cats flowing too much. Consider coding them out so they dont throw a check engine light

@@OEMplusRESTO sweet thanks! Did you need to lengthen your post cat O2 sensor? Or the stock length worked?

I was considering to get the schmiedmann exhaust headers, but in the manual it said that I have to cut out a part of the transmission to make them fit, so that turned me away from them. Bought a Supersprint replica from China and everything fit perfectly. My tuner said that with the Schmiedmann he got the best results when it comes to tuning, but the Supersprint isn't really far behind them. Comparing prices, the Schmiedmann was 440 Euro, the Supersprint replica was around 180 Euro. But after about a year, the first cylinder wield cracked, so I had to re-wield it and that's about it.

Great work and you have an amazing garage. I am glad I found your video. I had just talked to Schmiedmann this past week and they recommended this exact system for my 2004 330i ZHP. I was going to add this and put on the Eisenmann sound-rohr B5009.00000 to connect to my factory ZHP exhaust. I do not have your mad excellent skills with welding and machining. It is such a great price for this kit. Not worth it if I can’t install it. I might just have to put on the Turner Motorsport Valved Catback Exhaust - E46 325/330. I just did not want the valved part. Maybe the AFE MACH Force-Xp 2-1/4" 409 Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust System? I really wanted headers. Thank you again for the excellent video and information.

I'm really glad you made this video and shown us all the extra work you had to do to make it work. It's really sad @SchmiedmannBMWspecialist can sell a product with such bad fitment. It shows that they really don't care about quality, they just want your money.

Im happy you found it helpful. Having installed alot of headers it didnt suprise me though. Cheap headers just often doesnt fit. I still think its good value for the money but you really need to have some fabrication skills to make it work. And i will have to do it over as i effectively halfed the pipe diameter under the transmission crossmember. In hindsight i should have just done it perfect by cutting and routing my own pipes. But i got lazy and just wanted to test them. But again, im happy you and others might find it helpful and thats the most important thing to me. Thanks for watching

@@OEMplusRESTO Yeah, that's a lot of flow loss and potential turbulence in the pipes. Not acceptable in a "performance" exhaust.

@@skrsys the crazy thing is it still pulls way harder. Or so i feel. Someone else in the comments have told me to do a 50-100kmph comparison instead to remove possible launching and gearshift mistakes. I will use that metric next as its much better. You live and you learn

I think that you should flatten the pipes if they don't fit, not cut it out and weld, because by doing that you have reduced the flow of the exhaust. But I'm happy that you gained some power despite this. Today I started to install this headers on M54B30, but in E30, there is unfortunately, much more fitting and welding to be done. Nice video, very informative! One suggestion if I may - for measuring the performance differences I think it would be better to use a 2nd or, even better, a 3rd gear pull from 1500 rpm to limiter. I know now it's too late for this one, but maybe in the future?

Agree. I do my legal measurements 3rd gear 50-100kmh. Definetly not from 0kmh

Hello again! I'm currently on the fence about getting these, but I am unsure about some bits, namely: 1. How's the smell? But, please, be honest about it :) Like, do you feel extra-smell around the car or when sitting at a stop with the windows down? 2. Have you tested the emissions? I know that they are not TUV approved, but are the cats efficient enough so that it would pass? Thanks!

Havent noticed any smell worthwhile reporting. It does smell a tad more, but not much. I havent tested the emmisions no. But i know people who have been able to pass emmision with these. But you probably need a proper drive to have them at full heat before testing though

Hi. No. But they also state that some modifications has to be made for them to fit perfectly so theres they arent being dishonest and claim perfect fit either

They state on their website it doesnt fit the xi but i dont know enough about the xi to answer why not sadly. So many parts seems to not fit the xi for some reason.

An offtopic question…how tall are you? I am asking that because I basically don’t fit in my coupe with m sport seats and seems that you have planty of headroom with those M3 seats…

@@MichTuning i have heard other where the headers fit out the box. Mine didnt though as you can see. But a little hammering and some grinding at they fit. Not too bad considering the price of the kit. And you’d might be more lucky than me in terms of fitment. The most important is that they work. They definitely work

Congrats on the purchase. Some are lucky with the headers fitment but i havent heard of anyone that didnt have issues with the part that goes below the trans tunnel, Check my video called Exhaust if you want to see how i made it fit better. Theres alsp a video called Are stock manifolds restrictive that shows what you will gain over worn cats

Loud e46 bmw is a no go. Cats is the only way, either make it work with cats or else you look like a 16 year old high-school kid trying to be cool.
