    Great video. All that diff swapping must have been a lot of work! My E46 came stock with the 3.38 rear diff, because it has an automatic gearbox. I swapped in a 3.64 rear diff from an X3 3.0, and it improved my 1/4 mile times by about 0.3 second. But of course, the engine revs higher at cruising speed, and fuel economy is worse. There is always a trade-off.

    I wanna do this level of restoration to my 330ci however step 1 is to have a ramp and the tools 😢 as someone who is self taught and in a family that doesnt already have tools, having to buy the tools along the way is a bummer. Hoping to do my manual swap this summer and aspire to complete my build to this standard :)

    Tools and equipment are the biggest costs. And time. The car is cheap in comparison:) i hope you one day will find all of the above. In the meantime, park it in a garage or a carport, amd keep up om the oilchanges. Thank you for the nice words

    Idk if it works where you are but where I live cops are pretty stupid and have no idea what a cutout value is. If you wanan get away with driving illegal exhaust install 2 exhaust systems, on that is noise law compliment/stock and another thats unrestricted then have thw cutoff values after the collector but before the cats. Then do a fully cladded undercarriage so you get better aero and cops cant easily see your exhaust.

    Too bad you can't do like the ricer rednecks in my area of the world and just run the exhaust right through the hood. I've seen people do straight pipe exhaust right through the hood with a tractor flapper tip. I bet having a brass straight pipe through the hood with maybe a glasspack somewhere in it would sound a bit better.

    When you changed the stainless steel clutch did you remove also the Clutch delay valve (CDV)? The internet rumors say that it greatly improves clutch-feel and engagement. What is your feedback? And as always keep making these awesome videos😀

  • @OEMplusRESTO
    @OEMplusRESTO4 күн бұрын

    Sadly, someone before had removed it. Maybe i should have added it before making the video in the first place, for a better comparison. But i dont get these ideas until all you guys mention it in the comments:) either way, i only replaced the hose. And the “review” of it is not long because imo it doesnt change much. Yes, the pedal is a bit more firm. But if you dropped your car off for a service at your local garage, then went to pick it up at few days later, i dont think youd notice the difference. The brake hoses you will notice though. More touchy. And thank you for the suggestion to keep it up

  • @OEMplusRESTO
    @OEMplusRESTO4 күн бұрын

    Also, keep in mind i replaced an old hose. If comparison was new vs braided steel i think the difference would have been even less. I had an e36 where the hose visually expanded when pushing the clutch pedal. There is a difference in new vs old hoses at some point

  • @lefteris696
    @lefteris6964 күн бұрын

    @@OEMplusRESTO That is very true that it would've been negligible! But I was just curious what would be the difference between combination of cdv delete + stainless steel VS OEM... I would imagine that in that case it could be more significant 🤔

    Thank you for your videos man, really great content. I keep seeing the MA plate hanging on your wall, and since I'm from Málaga, Spain and that licence plate is from there I can't help but wonder what's the car and story behind it

  • @OEMplusRESTO
    @OEMplusRESTO6 күн бұрын

    Thank you. Its a great story about those plates and is what got me started in the bmw world. A Dane living in spain (malaga) brought his e39 m5 with him home to Denmark. I bought the car stupid cheap because it was heavily neglected, and fixed it up. I even have a video on the channel about it. It was bought new by a famous italian living in malaga. Some Spanish version of Frank Sinatra as ive understood it. Cant remember his name of the top of my head though
