1jz has over square design of the cylinders nearly like rb25, so they sound such similar.

I can now sleep peacefully after hearing this music for my daily dose of 1JZs

A reliable BMW

Coupe models are a rarity here in Thailand and 1jz is pretty much the standard swap for e30, 36, 46. It’s almost like our LS alternative but with 2-less cylinders. edit: I mentioned this ‘cause the car wore a Thai number plate.

yeah same thing man! Here in the Philippines we use E36, E46 sedans as drift cars all with RB or 1/2JZ swaps. And then you would see some nissan Cefiro A31 and S chassis as well

@@Joshua_N-A thing is, not many were optioned with that engine, because of how vehicle tax works in Thailand. So, about 50dollars for the first 1600cc, then 0.12 dollars for every cc. after. For instance, 3.0 Litre -> 1600+1400 cc. -> 1600+5600 THB = 216 USD approx. NOT INCLUDING IMPORT TAX & other. That will push the retail price to high hell. So, say the the new 2.0 Supra is about 120,000usd (which is dumb,) the 3.0, on the other hand, is retailed at 156k USD for the base 3.0. So 36k difference, for similar performance and looks. Also, insurance, that’s a thing. That’s why most Bimmers are 2.0 petrol or diesel in Thailand, even most 5 series I’ve seen were opted with 2.0diesel. While everyday runabouts are 1200-2000cc. Then, there’s maintenance and parts cost that will bleed you dry when you take into account the IMPORT FEES of the parts. I wish we have more S54s, it sounds so good.

Fun fact: they use 2JZ sound for the Skyline GT-R when it actually an RB26. Go to The Racing Joker channel where he explains how to get such sound in real life.

And it’s a fucking sedan bro! So niceee. I have an 01 330i that I wanna swap a 1jz into. One day. Either that or just go turbo route with what I have now.
