Thanks for your video mate, Just having this happen when demanding hot water, heating seems fine, but wasn’t sure if it was safe to use and just not use the hw in the meantime. guess I’m going to have to call out the man.

Hot waterj on bathroom mixer tap is the wrong way around also then ehhj? lol. That was my boss's pet hate. If i installed a bathroom & got the pipes reversed, even though it was a very very easy fix, swopping the tap's flexy's around. He wouldnt let me forget , that i'd done it again ha ha ha. And that he wants Red & Blue Sparky tape on all pipes. lol. At least i didnt mix up the shower mixer pipes, that would have been a mess about.

Hey Did the gas valve require to be removed to allow removal of plate heat exchanger. ? X

Great videos as normal 👍 i’ve got a duotec 40he , if i set my water temp at 50 , when i open a tap on full it goes to around 63 & never lowers to 50 , been told it cant modulate low enough , have you heard of this ? Cheers

That will be the ntc temp reading for ch side , if you have a blocked plate that number will start hitting 90°c , , if you want to test hot water temp set it at boiler to desired temp them , test hot water at tap with max flow rate for boiler , when running hot water the ch water will always be higher temp than DHW to allow heat energy to transfer into the cold to raise the temp

how can you check the pump function voltage and the diverter valve function voltage? at the PCB?

  • @thementalgasman3tgasmainte317

Your better off checking at the pump and the diverter motor to prove the harness is carry the correct voltage

Hello mate gas engineer here good video ! Got a plate to change myself just after any tips, do you have to remove any parts of the hydro block to remove the plate or can it slide out any other way ? Cheers mate

Hey thanks for the message,, on the duotecs it’s just 2 screws through the hydro block to release it , whip diverter motor off first and it will slide over the top of the hydro block , always recharge expansion before removing the plate 👍🏽 you’ll be fine buddy

Have you come acros similar problems but to add to the mix, the LCD reads "0'c?" "Zero?" I'll add that its ZERO when c/h temp dial is at MAX. Ive never seen a display showing ZERO. The c/h kicks in but hits 90'c pretty soon, then it cycles doing same. But it only locks out 5% of the time with E125 Its a Potterton Promax Combi, very similar to Duo Tech though ar'nt they. So expansioon needed recharging, System filthy, E125 fault, Hits 90'c, & LCD shows ZERO ffs. New PCB, blocked Pipework to Main HEX? Basicly totally screwed? Whats your diagnosis Doctor? lol

The plate heat exchanger will generally block before the main hex , but if hot water was working ok I’d go for filter blocked in return valve , or diverter stuck in DHW mode , no bypass on system an TRVS all closed, will all cause e125 faults , the temps reading can play up on these boilers which is usually pcb fault , rare I change a main hex on one of these boilers

@@thementalgasman3tgasmainte317 Thats excellent advice, i 1 paragraph, thankyou. Everything gives my findings certainty. Ive been told last night the heating stayed on , even with "No call for heat" and selector switch on H/W only. so pcb must be dead also divertor must be jammed
