You commented you did your heat exchanger insitu, boiler instructions say remove gas valve sitting directly in front of exchanger,but to me looks like a little jiggle after draining system, and should squeeze out, your video showing the rear is very helpful.

If you take the black plug off and remove the top of the diverter valve it will be much easier to remove the the old domestic hot water heater exchange and fit the new one.

does the whole system need to be drained down to replace the heat exchanger?

i just turned off all the taps under the boiler and the mains coming in the house

@@MrMeltedwelliesBit the bullet and swapped out the heat exchanger and we now have constant hot water again 😊. Really easy to do although I did get quite a bit of water out but a couple of towels sorted that. Thanks very much for the video, saved me the £400 that a gas fitter quoted for what took me no more than 20 minutes!
