Dr Sara Lazar showed the amygdala can shrink with 8 weeks of daily meditation. We choose high stress due to adrenaline addiction I think and it is unconsciously familar

Thank you! I did do your course Dan, which elped me quite a bit and thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. Amongst other things Delia‘s very clear stance on building up resilience I found very refreshing and for our generation and the generation of our kids even more important.

Hi Dan. I am a member of ANSRewire and wanted to thank you for this fascinating interview!! Just one point. You cautioned against empty salads and I just wanted to check if mine is nutrient dense enough. I have it solely as dinner every 3 - 4 days or so. Raw veg such as tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, salad greens, occasionally raw spinach and added with one large avocado/one and half handful of cashews / one or two hand full sunflower seeds / one tbs flax oil / two tbs apple cider vinegar / small amount pink salt / Perfect pinch mixed spices. My secret is to limit the raw veggies a bit so I can finish eating the rest. Anyone else got ideas on how to make your salad rich? Thank you...

It sounds like you are on the right track. Good to see that you have plenty of fat in there I like to add protein foods where possible to bring things into balance, eggs or tuna can be great in salad.

That was a really great interview, thank you both. I have a friend who is a gynaecologist. She constantly sees women who are iron deficient because they don’t eat meat. We do need some animal products. The trick is to buy organic, high welfare or keep your own! You didn’t mention dairy? It’s one of the things they tell you to avoid when sick with CFS…. Should this be included in the Mediterranean diet?

Well, I think there are a lot of factors, perhaps the most important being how you personally tolerate it. I hope to do a follow up interview some time soon.

@@CFSUnravelled1 thanks, not well! I’ve eaten dairy my whole life, then got CFS and now some cheese makes me vomit!! But I feel like I’m missing a food group …. Some people say it increases inflammation… but it would be nice to hear from someone who has a bit of expertise on the subject.

It really depends on the nature of your condition on how you approach this. If you have been triggered and are experiencing ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia or POTS, then exploring the education resources to help you move forward can be a great step. cfsunravelled.com/start-here/

The point is they eat a limited plant diet, grass, and have to get the most out of it. Humans can eat a nutrient rich diet therefor can optimise a nutrient dense meal that is less in terms of quantity.

The point was that if you are just eating green leaves - you need to be eating them all day long to get the calories you need - we are not cows and need a variety of foods to meet our nutritional requirements.

Idont agree with the vegan bashing. You can make every diat in a good way or in a bad way. Nuts, avocados, coconut etc... There are countless possibilities if you really want.

Thanks for your comment. What do you mean by vegan bashing? Yes indeed there are many ways, in fact that is the focus of Dr McCabe's cookbook.
