Dyson HD01 Hair Dryer Reassembly

In this video we take time to show a lot of the detailed Reassembly of the Dyson HD01 Hair Dryer. This video is recorded with better resolution than previous repair videos and will be my go to for reassembly. I will also upload a Disassembly video and the Dyson HD01 Hair Dryer Repair #3 video. I will also have a video looking inside of the filter on the Dyson cord called "What's inside of the Dyson Mystery Box?" and I will also take time to look at the GFCI as well in that video. Hope you find these videos helpful or at least interesting. Thanks for watching!

Thank you, I did the repair myself. It's really hard to open the case with the wind speed and temperature control buttons. But thanks to your video, I repaired it and now it blows hot air. Thank you very much 😉

Do you know if it's possible to turn the handle around so the button are facing in your direction if you blow your own hair?

It can't be turned. Even though the outer handle could twist it's the inner main frame of the handle that the switch is mounted to that is permanently in place.

Hi, I did a board and heating coil replacement but now the motor blows the wrong way. Any advice?

Is this by chance an aftermarket Chinese version of the board and motor? If so it is probably a 3 wire motor and is a 3 phase BLDC motor. The direction can be reversed by swapping any 2 of the 3 wires going to the motor. Double check that the connector did not get plugged in backwards. If not, you may have to press in the locking tab on the wire end to remove the crimped ends from the JST connector to swap the wires around. Hope it helps!

Hi, my HD01 isn’t turning on at all, it shows no signs of life. What could be the problem? Any way I can do some troubleshooting and check what’s wrong? Thank you

Hi brother.. If I want to lower the wattage of the heating element, what should I do? Because the electrical installation in my house is only 450VA (220vac) Even then, the voltage often fluctuates As a result, my hair dryer will turn on and off when the heater is turned on. Please help me

It is no easy fix for that. It would be modifications to the board needed for that. The factory only gives 3 levels or settings. I have not had to do any of that, but it would be more work than its worth honestly.

@@ThriftyToolShed I think so.. But, Will using a voltage stabilizer function normally? Because the voltage in my house can drop to 180volt When the hair dryer is turned on, the voltage can drop directly to 150 volts

@@Yand27_ID Hard to say, but you mentioned you only have 450va supply and this is a 1800watt device. I would doubt you would get much of anything from it at that low of power supply.

I see 37 ohms on the moto pins, is the motor solid? and the device is heating, but the engine does not work and there are no button controls

@@MsAxelfoly I am just going by memory. The motor was around 7 ohms. Not sure about the driver circuit itself. I did not have an issue with that on my repair.

Man, I was hoping you were saying the cap was shorted causing the microcontroller to be faulted. Dang, hate that the micro itself was the problem. That has to be very rare for sure! Good fault finding!
