Moran does a really unusual and quite brilliant thing in his delivery: So many of his jokes are deeply, deeply dark, subtle, cutting, original, social and personal commentary, but he delivers them so fast and they arrive so out of left field but so skillfully stitched in, and yet he does not linger on any punchline or laughter feedback to let you have time to see their origins or construction before moving onto the next one. You just KNOW they hit the spot but are not cognisant of how he did that! Eg, "The Northern Ireland mind is like a Van Morrison song -- you never know what's going to come out next"! In that split second before the next gem arrives, you have to immediately reflect on all the Van Morrison lyrics you know; think "Shit yeah that's so true"; then reference it back to all the Northern Irish people you know; translate it into relevance re The Troubles; have a massive appreciation chuckle; by which time you've missed several other brilliant quips and mentally fallen behind his monologue. The big irony in that joke is that you never know what is going to come out of Dylan Moran's mind next. You've got to wonder if he wrote that line with intentional self reference! So sharp at so many levels.

Dylan Moran epitomizes what it means to be Irish, to me. It's an attitude. His style or writing is sublime, and his timing is impeccable. Top 3 all time list of people I'd love to get half drunk with.

I will never forget Dylan in Black Books when he had his frozen bottles of wine on a stick, then the time they drank the expensive wine as opposed to the cheap wine and they had to make some to replace before the owner of the house came back.

VengfulDarkness step aside from your complexes and realize that the more profound the funniest and also comedy is not about who says the newest or weirdest thing is about deliverance of bringing the profound from the back to the front with great deliverance. Apart from that if you think his jokes are simple who don’t know him at all or his other work. Piece of advice u try stand up maybe you are better 👽

This Guy and Bill Bailey are my all time Greatest, both absolutely bloody great.

Ehh I think Dylan Moran shows how Chappelle has failed with his recent material. Chappelle used to be funnier, but now he takes cheap shots and complains because he didn't try hard enough to think of a better joke. He's become a lazier writer. Dylan Moran finds ways of being funny even with tired subjects that don't feel cheap and easy.

He has a huge fan here in 🇨🇭. Sadly, despite 🇨🇦 English being my mother tongue, I sometimes have difficulty following him. He speaks very quickly, and my hearing isn't as sharp as it once was.

What a legend. Went to see him on St. Patrick’s day when he was doing his tour in San Jose. He kept blaming the Silicon Valley audience and their tech for making him forget things. And I think, just maybe, he quite deliberately ‘forgot’ to mention the date. I mean, maybe he did forget. The chaotic genius that he is. Oh I love this man.
