Dying City… Criminals Take Back NYC’s Subway

Crime has spiraled out of control in the NYC Subway, to such an extent riders are scared and staying away. The NYPD is now trying to take back the subway, and they're starting by arresting fare evaders... is this a good strategy?

Waaait, “stopping fare evaders lowers other criminal activity” Whadda a Great Idea! Too bad Mayor Giuliani didn’t think of that 🤔 Oh, he DID and New York City had a decade of unparalleled PEACE & PROSPERITY! Then the Soviet Democrat Party got voted back into power (after Bloomberg kept the same “broken windows” policies) and they turned the whole city back the the SH*T of the 70/80s but WORSE because even those Democrats didn’t follow the George Soros practice of “catch & release” it’s only a question of how many people LEAVE as it gets worse and worse because anyone who wants to make NYC will be prosecuted by the DA’s office for Trumped up Crimes!

448,000 people didn't pay today... that's almost $1.3 million USD PER DAY of lost revenue. And the MTA has the balls to say they need $15 from every working person driving a car? These people aren't even using the train and paying the fare FIVE TIMES. People who steal, fight and murder ride the train for free, while taxpayers who are actually contributing to the economy, foot their bill. You don't have to wonder why the city is losing its educated middle class, and only receiving homeless, jobless migrants as newcomers. You can back these up with numbers. NYC lost 500k permanent residents since the pandemic. The policies we have emboldened our legislators to support are ruining our quality of life, across the board.

Driving the middle class out of NYC is part of the agenda i.e. a massive brain drain. A 2 class system - You're either rich or poor, there'll be no inbetween anymore. This is all just propaganda. Millions of people come to NYC every year. 8 million inhabitants and tens of thousands of tourist everyday. People please: Make sure you get news from reputable local NYC periodicals and news sources that answer to journalistic ethics, that actually research and talk to elected officials, and do not listen exclusively to this panic stricken, scaredy cat dude who clearly needs to move to NJ!! Cash portrays everything like its a panicky freakout wild west brawl everywhere in this city... ive lived here for 20yrs, have tons of friends of all races and ethnicities, a lot of whom are born and bred, and we all have kids and families, we travel all over the city everyday... This Dude Overhypes Everything!! This dude is also acting as if it was better in the past of NYC when police were tacitly empowered to kill people if they even thought you were stealing anything!! It was not. People dead for selling loose cigarettes is not better Cash Jordan. This Cash Jordan is NOT a scholar of urban planning, politics, history, or psychology. He doesnt do a deep dive with a ton of research and talking to politicians and a history of the issues with sources. And so as I said: he is all Panic and no Perspective. When i see those bags under his eyes and hes all close to the camera sounding desperately afraid... I just want him to get some psychiatric help if he's so stressed! It drives me nuts when people like this guy tell you that you should be freaked out and scared all the time because that is how he increases his viewing numbers!!

I think the, “Iron Maidens”, can be used very effectively to capture and detain both fare-beaters and more serious criminals. They have to be used not as the exit turnstiles, but, the entrances. However, They can be used for exit also to prevent criminals from leaving the subway platforms after committing crimes. Any kind of data processing/reading equipment can be installed in the “Iron Maidens”. There can also be restraining equipment installed so the criminals are literally trapped between the “Iron Maiden” bars. That would be upon their entering or exiting the platform area. Those “Iron Maidens” are excellent potential criminal catchers. They can be technologically controlled any number of ways, including remotely, but, most conveniently by the personnel in the ticket booths who have the clearest understanding of what is going on.

Sure, you'd keep your street smarts about you as you would in any big city, but on the whole the place seemed to be running smoothly, it was fairly clean and tidy, and just had a good vibe about it. Happy times. As much as I've longed to go back again someday, looking at recent vids from the last 5 years, I don't think I will be. It's not just NY either. I’m watching every video you upload and I’m seriously so grateful I live in a clean and safe European country. In a city, that is not overpopulated and everything can still be controlled (eg tickets), and where it is more affordable to take a super well connected public transport rather than a car (I pay no more than 12$ a month for all metro, bus, tram and some train lines - recently I got a fine worth more than 3 months of rides, and they check the tickets super often so there is literally no point in going without one). In my city there is a project for removing the gates to metro as they consume a lot of city’s money, and do nothing (everyone can jump over them and they check the tickets inside the metro so they can get a fine anyways). But here you can actually check the whole train full of people as opposed to New York where you can’t even move surrounded by a crowd. In Germany (Berlin at least) you can enter metro like that already. And it works, people who wouldn’t buy a ticket still don’t buy a ticket, but the amount of money saved on not having those gates at the entrance can go to some other things.

If you go to any Balkan country, there it might be even more unsafe, although I don’t have such experience.

@@vikasprakashjoshi2090 in Italy for example public transport is not so developed, and I think moving around at night isn’t so easy. Germany, Poland - those have better public transport that also operates at night. Most big cities in Europe close metro around midnight, and then you have to rely on night buses

So let me see if I've got this right. In New York, I can steal say, a Playstation 5 from a store, punch a woman in the face on the street and the cops won't even turn up? But if I don't pay $2.90 to ride the subway...... This is beyond 'clown world' and out the other side.

I work as a bus driver for a company called greyhound, and they made us all take a mandatory seminar that was pretty much a 4 hour lecture on how we will get fired if we refuse to drive a bus with the intent of "migrant dumping". We even had politicians get on stage telling us that we were the "Angels of America", but in reality, i feel guilty when i see a news report of migrants doing terrible things to american citizens. I feel a responsibility to stand up and do something, but i know i will lose my retirement/pension if i do. Just last week a migrant urinated all over the inside of the bus I was driving because they were upset that they had to sit on the floor for the 4 hour ride (we were only 25 min in to the drive). We had another case were the migrants were "taking turns" on a woman while her husband collected money from everyone waiting their turn (this happened at the back of the bus where they had used bed sheets at the center of the bus to block the driver's veiw of what was happening back there.) Im not suprised these people behave this way. A female driver once had to drive a "migrant bus" and she refused to do so after seeing that 2 children were visibly pregnant. She called the police, and ended up losing her job over it. When the children were interviewed, they said that they were in their 20's, even though they were somewhere between the ages of 8 to 12 (driver showed us a photo that she took). Un-suprisungly the motherbof the two girls was pregnant as well.,,.

If they say you can't refuse to drive migrants busses, maybe drive the busses to the upper-middle class neighborhood and offload there where people making $150K+/yr who overwhelmingly support all this "humanitarianism" and "vote blue not matter who" can get a taste, since those are the people whose voice seems to matter.

Oh- an 8 year old can't get pregnant unless she's had early puberty which is rare, but a 12 year old can, some 11 year olds, 10 year olds it's more rare. What kind of driver lets people curtain off part of the bus or block their view of people? Men could be gang-raping someone, covering their mouth or at knife or gun-point.

The reason those security gates aren't used anymore (at least in some other cities) is because: 1) Riders who were injured by accident because the gates didn't work cost municipalities a lot of money 2) They were not useful as emergency exits, and 3) They were not accessible in places where they were the only fare-barrier access.

It will take a very long time. New Yorkers are usually very self-absorbed. They don't do anything unless it affects them directly. They will wait until they are assaulted, or one of their relatives gets murdered, then they will blame the police for not doing enough. And forget them changing their voting habits. NYC will continue to vote Democrat until the end of time. The fact that Rudy Giuliani was elected is a miracle really.

My family lives in a place that has no underground rail at all. We took a vacation to Washington DC a couple years ago when our daughter was 12. It was absolutely insane how many people were jumping over the turnstiles. Our daughter eventually did ask how come we are paying for every ride when you can just ride for free like tons of other people are doing. And of course we explained about following the law and how things would crumble if nobody actually paid. And she agreed with all that, but I remember being 12, and I'm positive that part of her also thought that since a lot of other people are doing it, it must not be that bad. There have always been people jumping over turnstiles, but my wife and I were actually shocked at how commonplace it was in DC. I'm assuming it's probably worse in NYC. But the people evading fares are definitely not the kind of people who give a crap about infrastructure or things around them crumbling.
