Not sure. I think Poirier did good, to my surprise, against BSD who is a very good grappler. I know Islam is not BSD but Poirier's defense in that fight somehow gives me some hope for an upset. Remember the last two fights for the belt, he came close of KO to Oliveira and even Nurmagomedov. If he can survive submission, Poirier can KO anyone in this category.

BSD is overrated tho. He depends on cardio, power and toughness to carry him through fights.

@@j-wei4603 crazy to say BSD is overrated because he lost to DP. Poirier just outclassed him solely based on experience. If BSD continues in the UFC, he'll continue to finish people with less experience. i dont see him climbing the ranks too fast, but i dont see him losing his next fight either.

I don't mind seeing Dustin lose as a +290 underdog but im not sure how the rest of the fambases sentiment will be towards that.

I like Dustin Poirier’s goal achieving mindset.

For objective perception, one lost and one win. Get title shot. I can't find justify but ok I will enjoy the ride. Dustin definitely legend but rooting for Islam. Respectfully 😊. If Dustin win I just wow😊

I agree with DP what you shouldn't say after you lose. When BSD is talking about it after the loss, it does sound like an excuse. But if he loses again, nobody would ever believe a word he says. His credibility would be gone.

Poirier said he's done more, not achieved higher accolades. He's been active in the ufc trenches for way longer. Longevity, his highlight reel of iconic wars & knockout wins, more high profile fights, etc... I get his perspective. He's beaten several former champs & complete savages. Max, Eddie, Gaethje, McGregor, Chandler... Just a couple fights ago Islam was still unproven. I remember how many questions people had before the Dan Hooker fight. Hasn't been that many fights since then, but don't get me wrong Islam has undoubtedly done great for himself since.

He want it ! But he is not ready.. and he know it.

It would be a bisping-like fairytale story if Dustin was able to capture the belt. I hope he gets it done.
