McGregor is done with MMA. He'll try to keep up but it's all over for him. It was a full 5 minutes before he talked about something other than the movie, then he immediately said "I'm busy with promoting the movie,"and *"then there's St. Patty's with the alcohol"" Haha he really said he can't schedule a fight because of St Patrick's day and alcohol. He's been ducking Chandler since a few weeks after TUF filming started. With that level of commitment, he'll be retiring by the end of this year.

There is nothing better than when you get Conor actually talking about the fighting landscape. You can see the amount of detail he watches the fights and the fighters with.

He has 2 fights left on his contract and obviously is unwilling to sign again since he knows he can make 50x more boxing in Saudi or UAE. So the UFC will string him along, typically they would feed a huge star to rising talent to build their name but everyone mcgregor wants to fight is basically retired or at the very end of their career so its of no benefit to the UFC to have him fight.

@@kf1809 no the reason they don’t give him a fight is because they try to save him for the best possible occasion which makes the most possible money which means the event has to be very picky in terms of which fighter he can go against and when those fighters are available. Do you not believe Connor when he says I just want to fight anybody so he can get comfortable in there again. You’ve seen when fighters come back from years off that never goes well. Look at Henry Cejudo recently. But because it’s Connor, and we all have such high expectations of him. The man takes one wrong step on you all jump on him to try and absorb some of that fame

As someone said, it isn’t brand new. It’s a second channel of a massive brand.

He actually targets the best fights he should have for a potential ending of his career. A conclusive bout of the Diaz and the Poirier saga is truly what the fans and the mma history would appreciate when looking back. I think if it finally happen that way it would be fantastic, giving to all of us that last taste of what the best years of the UFC felt like.

Most ufc fights are just Boring and almost never live up to the hype but I watch anyway

I wonder if the UFC allows these fighters to go into movies as an ego check. Or maybe as a way to throw them a bone during negotiations. They let them take these opportunities during moments in their career where they feel on top and want to call the shots for the next chapter as a way to show em it’s fun but you’re not number one, all eyes on you, mvp in acting. Yeah these fighters get a lot of attention and are pampered throughout the process but they’re being directed as well, and they have to play support role now, and are doing what the role requires. Might be tough for some star fighters to be in the middle of, or maybe a wake-up call as to his role with the ufc. I think Conor learned a lot but also given his unique personality, thrived and felt comfortable with the task at hand.

The world will be honored to see this man back in octagon. Come on, Conor! One more for the fans

I think the Mac needs a goal, otherwise this is what happens. As a huge fan I want to see his best-self and that only seems to be possible if he has an objective set-in-stone. Unlike the majority I do believe in a successful come-back, as once he’s goal orientated he’s an unstoppable force, he just seems to be unstoppable in the opposite direction currently.

If Conor wants to have an acting career beyond fighting, he's definitely going to have one in Hollywood if he wants it. He already understands the mindset and process of the actor; few are able to grasp it so quickly. But I hope he's got some good fights left in him. That's like saying we can't criticize politicians because they're wealthy and powerful. The man is a joke, and I pity the people that still defend him despite all the silliness he's done

He was a good fighter at lightweight and featherweight. He has no wins in higher weight classes. He’s also been inactive for years. And he also has an injury that is clearly gonna be targeted. We saw how that worked out for weidman. Conor is done.

Dustin fighting conor makes way more sense than having dustin going for the belt a third time, plus charles needs to get his rematch, how does the former champion not get his rematch but dustin and justin are on the verge of their third try of the belt

McGregor is still the biggest draw in combat sports. Hopefully we see him back the the Octagon on international fight week. UFC is not the same without him.

The Ufc does very well without him. The Ufc grew without him too. As a fighter he is middle class and can't even beat Dustin.

@@DizGuys thing is conor's always blaming his comeback delay on other people, Dana, opponents, USADA. when fact is he was scheduled to fight Chandler last year but couldn't piss clean, and now that USADA's not an issue he's trying to find another reason not to fight. honestly i think he retires before he signs a fight
