Cypher is such a beautiful system

I've known how to pronounce Qedhup for a while now but my brain always tries to say 'Queued Up' when I see it written haha

Break the Mind seems like its value is very dependent on the type of campaign. In, say, an Urban campaign, it could potentially be incredibly powerful. But wilderness hex crawls and the like, useless. But give me a rogue, planning a heist, making everyone he learns detail from forget who he is, and wow, that’s Ocean’s 11 cool!

Another issue I see with "Break their Mind": You have just encountered a person, want something from them, break their mind - and then they forgot you. So, you basically might have to start all over again. Under time pressure, which is a factor in many circumstances, this might just be useless. Great video!

It’s so cool to see TTRPG content creators doing this now! I’ve seen TCG creators doing it for a while and it’s always fun content.

@@Chris3s It is a generic system that i've played it as a Dark Sun style campaign, a modern mystery and Numenera and seen it played a Shadowrun, fantasy and a Cyberpunk/Superhero game! The fact that you use your stats as stats, hp magic/power points and saving throws! The GM intrusion system is top notch! The fact that the GM doesn't roll is great for people like Wil Wheaton who can't roll to save their life! The xp system is creative!

How did you not see that that first ability was basically Counterspell plus more?!

Cypher is a fantastic system to have a break from your tables main system. We use it to run short campaigns between our longer pathfinder campaigns
