@@MrBjax9000 Millions? Conan Exiles barely reached 55k total peak players on Steam. Dune will probably reach 80k total peak players if the game releases flawlessly without game breaking bugs. But most people will be waiting for Ark 2.

There has so far been 0 knife fighting in anything shown by this game, only guns... Makes me worried for how this is going to turn out

They've explicitly stated there is melee combat but the animations aren't completed yet.

Dune Lore: projectile weapons have become very uncommon due to the use of shields that could cause a Nuclear explosion so most of the people in the universe are trained to fight with hand to hand combat Devs: sounds like a great third person shooter!

This is false, both the Bene Gesserit and the Fremen religions will feature in the game but they don’t want the entire game to be about the holy war since it takes place before the books/movies in an alternate history.

@@ColtonT13 there is no "bene geserit religion" there is the missionaria protectiva which was superstition planted across different world. On some worlds like arrakis it developed into a religion. But that religion was never used to wage war prior to Paul

Metal Gear was using flat textures to simulate the footprints. This is using actual geometric displacement. This is not new either, so not sure why they included this in the presentation in the first place.

Lumentic lighting and Nanite tech is super new bro. Lumentic lighting in console and PC games is definitely newer, whereas before it all was prebaked. All of that footprint stuff was not dynamic in older games

Fluid Ninja thoroughly deserves the recognition. A truly magnificent plugin

If you'd like to know what the gameplay will be close to is Funcom's Conan Exiles. The major difference will be that it is based in Dune universe. They have released gameplay footage as well on their website. The building looks identical to how it worked in Conan Exiles, however Funcom said they overhauled the building mechanics. So, I'm extremely excited to jump into Dune Awakening.

On the other hand Conan is more melee based, whereas we didnt see much melee here in Dune, which would be a shame if it ends up being just a shooter.

No. It's an open world survival mmo. The whole game is designed around being in a world populated with other players. There will be things you can do without much interaction with other people.
