Dumpster Diving With a Special Mission!

What a great day dumpster diving and scrapping! Today we had a specific scrap goal in mind, and aimed to complete it by the end of the day. A nice scrap metal pickup from a friend to start things off was a great help, and we continued with a bunch of great finds as our adventure carried on. But was the goal a success? No spoilers!
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2SwrYsB
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)

Area rugs, large ones, do sell well. Take them to the car wash and wash them first. Then lay out in garage and do a deep clean! Very worth the time. Wool or not

The way electricity prices are going, the wood in the first dumpster will be worth collecting more than the metal soon.

That orange sheet you found behind the dumpster is for grills. It's supposed to be so you can grill and not get your grill dirty. They don't work that well.

Hey Thub, find yourself a long garden tool handle (hoe, shovel, etc) and drive a nail through the end of it at an angle. You can use it to root around and not get into the dumpster, or to pick most stuff out of it. Sometimes things will be too heavy or too buried for that, but this still saves you some diving.

@@BushDogScrapper Yep! I like the simple nail/spike, as I use it to stab aluminum cans so I don't have to get in the dumpster or crawl into a bramble thicket to get a can. Just whack it and pull it out. :) I like talking to other scrappers, just to see how inventive we are!

The rubber cylinder you find at 12:50 is part of an air bag suspension for a commercial truck. Specifically the air bag. They wear out over time and need to be replaced. The one you found is a little one, probably from a box truck.

(12:50) I" still don't know what these are still" They are air bags for trucks, if you want to carry more weight in your truck you should get a set of these they will probably be called bag helpers for your application, you can get them in strut/shock form as well. A little air compressor action and next thing you know you can throw another 1,000 pound in. I could tell you all the nice things they do but I'll leave online for that 😜

Hey Thub! Was just watching an older video of yours (security guard caught you 😂) but when you were at the yard - you saw a bunch of already fired bullets - but there’s a shooting range near where I live and I go there and pick up all the brass casings - It’s honestly a really quick way to make some cash .. was gonna say idk if there’s any ranges near where you live, but it’s the only place I know where there’s a bunch of brass just laying around waiting to get picked up .. and where I live they actually promote it so the place doesn’t get all trashed up, so nobody cares if you take it, they just sweep it up and throw it in the trash can … but sorry off topic comment on this video, just wanted to throw ideas at you on where to maybe find some good metal to take in - just recently bought a smelter, I’m thinking of making some brass bricks w/ them instead of taking in to see how that works out #LeaveItBetterThanYouFoundIt
