About the concert
For several years now, Gustavo Dudamel and the young musicians from the Venezuelan youth
orchestra "Simón Bolívar" have been causing a furor on the international music scene. More than
anything else, it is they who have earned the Venezuelan orchestra system respect around the
world: 30 years ago, the conductor, composer and economist José Antonio Abreu had the vision
of combining social work and classical music. Abreu's goal was to tear down elitist structures in
music education and make music a fundamental right of all the country's children.

One of the most beautiful pieces of Impressionist music. Maybe one of the most gorgeous and atmospheric pieces of all time.
The size of the Simon Bolivar orchestra in this piece is astounding!That sai, they gave an outstanding & magnificent performance that rivals any other major, established orchestra in the world. Gustavo Dudamel needs no introduction (anymore), after having become the music director and main conductor of [our] LA Phil, but I'll bet that his proudest achievement will always be conducting the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra, and more so than ever in this complex, energetic, and mind blowing composition , La Valse, by the great Maurice Ravel. Many kudos and Bravos to all! Thanks. Also many thanks to the videographers and editors who did a superb job, showing close ups of the players when they were soloists etc. Thanks all.
El sonido debía de ser apabullante con tal cantidad de músicos sobre el escenario, seguro que te vibraba hasta la última fibra de tu ser . Desde luego una experiencia única difícil de repetir
Está Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Simón Bolívar, sigue marcando pauta a nivel universal, tocando las obras musicales de los más grandes compositores de la música universal, y al frente nada más y nada menos que el "Director de Directores" el que nos ha hecho comprender y apreciar mejor la música clásica, que más se puede pedir, solo una cosa, darle gracias a Dios por tanta felicidad auditiva.

A wonderful piece for wonderful and talented musicians ! I don't know what's Dudamel's recipe, but this orchestra challenges (and even surpasses) by its quality and precision many national orchestras.
I just love Ravel and Dudamel.
Amazing to me that there are ONLY 390 likes for this incredibly talented group of young musicians. Need more proof? Listen to their interpretation of Danzon#2 by Arturo Marquez. You'd be up and dancing too. Perfection.. F.

A lot of respect for Dudamel and Simon Bolivar orchestra. Mahler II. symphony was brilliant at the Royal Albert Hall. But: it's a scandal that the choir is left out of Daphnis. This was Diaghilev's sick idea and Ravel never agreed.
