Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophy are degenerative diseases that lead to progressive muscle weakness. This video aims to explore both Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy in terms of discovery, symptoms, diagnosis, prevention and treatment, as well the associated genetic and cellular mechanisms. Conducting a comparison between both Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy will better-inform the audience of two very rare muscular diseases, potentially leading to an earlier diagnosis and the implementation of prevention strategies to improve one’s quality of life. This video is expected to spread awareness regarding the complexity of two very similar yet different conditions, and what this means for the affected individual.
