I have muscular dystrophy and my brother too, but sadly my brother has died at the ages of 16 because of a heart condition and now I'm 20 years old, and I'm more scared now because I watch a lot video about muscular dystrophy and its always saying that at the ages of 20 the person has muscular dystrophy will de because of a heart condition

I have a cousin who has it. He can walk he’s like 25 just hard to get up and stuff sometimes. Don’t worry your son and be perfect in Jesus name. I’ll keep him in prayer.

@Someones Samin No I lost the ability to walk at the age of 12 that's the average age people with Duchenne stop walking. I'm fully dependant on others for my care now. I'm very sorry to hear about his diagnosis! Don't worry he can still live a great life, I know it's a devastating diagnosis but all you can do is take it one day at a time. There are many support groups on Facebook with many families with children with Muscular Dystrophy and adults that have it as well you should join one of them.

Start with a small book (e.g. Kaplan or First Aid), then a medium-sized book (e.g. Davidson’s), then a larger book (e.g. Harrison’s). While studying, always try to find links between different topics. Draw Diagrams and algorithms. Don’t give up! Internal Medicine is a hidden treasure!

It is a common misconception the DMD increases risk for Malignant Hyperthermia. This is not correct.
