Ducati Multistrada 950 S 2021 - Test Ride Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is part three of my four part series of test rides of potential bikes to replace my KTM Duke 790 with a more tour-focussed bike that still provides the fun factor.
So far the tests have been on the following bikes:
BMW S1000XR
BMW R1250 GS
And the last in the series will be the Ducati Multistrada V4S, the video for which will be posted tomorrow.
There was intended to be a fifth bike in the series, but I have been unable to secure a ride on one to date, but if I get the opportunity I will record the ride and post my review. That bike is the KTM Superduke 1290 GT.

I own the 950s spoked wheel. I love the suspension on this bike and the fuel economy is even better than you got when you are on tour in top gear. I also find the seat and wind protection great. I do think it needs to be revved hard if you want performance from it and it is a bit top heavy to push around but in all it’s a great sports tourer. It’s also pretty good on dirt roads. It’s definitely a bit too quiet but I tour with ear plugs so it doesn’t concern me.I just got back from a 5000km trip and I felt pretty good at the end.

Was this a 2021 bike? Just asking because I was told the fuelling at very love speeds filtering etc Was not good on the 2021 Euro 5 but ok on the 2019/2020 Euro 5. Looking to buy now on your recommendation. Thanks

Great review! If you have to choose between 850 GS Adventure and the new Multi V2 for a RTW trip, which one would it be?

Cheers! In answer to your question I'd probably go with the V4 to be honest - the 850 GS is a very tall and top heavy bike for me, although from a practical point of view, it would probably be easier to get parts and maintain the BMW! And it would probably be the best bet in terms of cast iron reliability, so maybe the GS after all!🤣

The plot thickens. V4 is punchy. With a very clever bit of cruise control radar xx and suspension as well if I remember.

Not heard anything from them at all, I’m going to chase them up next week. I’m not a huge fan of the look of the adventure for my purposes. I’m sure it’s a great bike, but it looks a bit too adventure focussed than road focussed for me.

@@TheBoltHoleBiker possibly too close to home but try the Duke 890R, bonkers little bike that can be ridden sensibly (?) at low speeds, then when you open it up it makes you smile 😃. But it all depends what you’re after . Look forward to the next video of how to blow £17000! 😂

@@gsd32i 🤣🤣I know, it is a bit of an extravagance this, I've got my wife to thank for the funding, but it is a bit of a once in a lifetime opportunity. The 890R is 100% on my list of bikes that I want to ride, but not sure of I'll ever own one. The 790 satisfies my naked bike needs, this new bike is for a bit of old man creature comforts for touring.

I'm loving mine, but I will admit it is also a bit heavy once you come to a stand still. Fine at low speeds, just a bit top heavy at a complete stop. No problem moving it around the garage though.

I seem to remember a comparison of this and it bigger brother a while ago, and the 950 came out on top. V4 has loads of power, but for real world riding the 950 was the best all rounder. I’ll see later what you think, but I’m guessing this may nudge it. 😉
