Dubai Airshow 2023 | Airshow Dispatches S06E11
Highlights from the Dubai Airshow, the ultimate east-meets-west aviation showdown. The latest fighter aircraft from various nations featured, including the USA's F-15EX/QA and F-35A Lightning II, China's J-10C, France's Rafale C and Russia's Su-35. There was also a world-first showdown between Pakistan's JF-17 Thunder and India's Tejas.
The UAE contributed their F-16E and Mirage 2000 displays, as well as the Al Fursan Al Emarat aerobatic team flying the MB-339. We also got a glimpse into the future, with a solo display by their incoming aircraft, the L-15 Falcon. Other big aerobatic teams included August 1st/Ba Yi, the Russian Knights, Frecce Tricolori and the Sarang Display Team.
Commercial aviation was represented by the 777X and A350 in the flying display.

I think the F15QA display is the first time I've seen a non-thrust vectoring western fighter performing a tailslide. Certainly on my RIAT 2024 wishlist haha. Fantastic filming as always!

Just when I thought you were gone, you came back! Nice show! I especially enjoy all of your technical information during the show. Good job as usual. When this episode showed up in my notifications, I thought it was an old show I'd seen before. What a delight to finally watch this a week later. 😎👍🛩

A very welcome surprise! Dubai was an airshow that I haven't seen enough documentation on, so i'm glad to see an episode with this show!
Why they didnt fly block 3 variant?

Because the display team pilot is a Block 2 pilot and the team is assigned a Block 2 jet. They couldn't swap to Block 3 without some retraining and pulling at least one (probably two) Block 3s off other duties for several weeks.
