  • @ricsim78

The issue is, those are mostly only good for airshows. There would be limited use in a dogfight, and as soon as it did one of those moves, it would lose energy and another fighter would blow it out of the sky. The F-15EX could kill the SU-57 before the Felon even knew it was there. Not to mention Russia is having trouble affording them, there are literally thousands of US fighters while Russia likely has less than three SU-57 fully operational.

@@ricsim78I’m not a pilot, especially not a combat pilot but I would disagree… The F-22 Raptor has 2D thrust vectoring and the SU-57 has 3D thrust vectoring, clearly the pilot will use the maneuver during a dog fight that going to give them the upper hand… Being able to maneuver your fighter jet in a way you enemy can’t is a bonus…

That's not a hypersonic missile. Glide vehicles and air-launched cruise missiles have been used by the US for decades before its competitors started developing them. The US is currently the only country developing a hypersonic missile.

@@dallascowboy2221 It wasn't necessarily cancelled, they just decided to upgrade the existing ones and focus on developing 6th/7th gen aircraft using the f22 as its basis. The f22 is still the most advanced fighter aircraft ever which is why we don't sell it to anybody. However, why reopened production when you can just develop next gen aircraft.

Whatever problems the f22 had in the past has been long solved. They're using it as the basis to develop 6th/7th gen aircraft. The f22 today is still the most advanced jet fighter ever. Jesus my Dragon 16 does a much better job of text to voice translation. The F22 did work out and it can fly to 60k ft its just restricted unless absolutely necessary. Also they do have the fix for the oxygen issue but its expensive as it needs a complete swap out and with the lifespan coming close to the end they didnt think it was cost effective (finally a smart choice with finances).

As a pilot, my best friend is a pilot, aircraft designer, engineer and builder. He has made 10 planes from fiberglass sheets and resin. Anyhoo, he introduced me to 100 mph duct tape and 1,000 mph duct tape. They are made of metal and once they're stuck on it takes a grinder to remove them. Got a bunch of holes in the fuselage? No problem! The cost is high for a temporary patch, 1 roll of it 33 meters long is about $800 USD.
