It's ridiculously easy to obtain a license here in the US. And worse, so many violations like drunk driving, driving without insurance and/or unregistered vehicle is simply a slap on the wrist in most cases. Meanwhile, the rest of us who drive responsibly see our insurance premiums raise year after year because of these people.

Remember they only make money off of registered, insured, licensed drivers. So of course they want you to have a license. And the worse you are at driving the more fines you rack up. And the more you pay in insurance. It makes no sense at all for them to want capable and safe drivers. They’ll fine you claiming safety, but they don’t care if you’re actually being safe.

I honestly don't think that girl was driving. I kept waiting for the officers to come over and say that the people on the beach said it was the other girl driving. The owner of the car was seriously drunk. The "driver" either sobered up quick, or the other girl was actually driving.

Also, bond is not designed to be a punishment, it is generally set based upon the perceived risk of not showing up to court. Low risk of bond-jumping generally results in a low bond. Punishment is handed out if and after a guilty verdict is reached. Did you graduate from Trump University or something? Because your legal illiteracy is starkingly obvious.

1st offense misdemeanor. And given that the DUIS was actually cooperative, they let her off pretty freaking easy on the spot. The court however will likely force her to have a Breathalyzer Key-lock for a couple years though, plus a heap of fines. Ultimately, if she never does this crap again, that'll be a win for the PD. On the surface, she may have gotten a slap on the wrist... but it was a slap on the wrist with an aluminum ruler delivered by a Catholic School Nun. She will feel this.

Bonds have nothing to do with the crime, the question is bond or no bond - is she a serious danger for the community, which warrants her right to freedom to be taken away without due process - which means you only get no bond if you commited a seriously heinous crime, and is the bond high enough so she will show up to court. A bond is not a punishment, its only about getting people to go to court when they need to.

They drove around from the public access section of New Smyrna beach where you CAN drive on the beach. There’s a rock barricade that would stop cars from coming over onto this section of beach, which is the dog park beach facing the intercostal waterway. I’m very familiar with this beach, spent many summers here. She’s an idiot for sure.

The girl “please help us” WHAT!! Excuse me! I’m in shock she really believes she is the victim. 🤯 “How do we get people to get away from us?” Ugh this girl! 😒 then cries like she’s the one that’s being arrested. I just can’t. And even calls her friend “were being arrested!” The friend though..handles herself well.

This girl looks like she’s like 32 years old and she’s acting like she’s 10. I bet her parents are really proud
