The thing that gets me with Stanton's solos is that he doesn't lose the groove and just dazzle and flash. He never loses the feel of the song.

Seeing stuff with Stanton Moore is always such a trip down memory lane and ripe with nostalgia for me. Growing up in the early 2000s my dad became very into the jam band revival scene with groups like Galactic, Medeski Martin and Wood, The String Cheese Incident and many others. I'd here music like this all the time and it just brings me back to my childhood. I've gotten to see him live with my parents multiple times and he's just a total powerhouse of groove.

Magnificent performance....gritty yet full of control. His buzz roll hits on the snare are unique and very effective.

FINALLY!!!!!!!! I’ve been asking for this video since you started the Zildjian series haha. He has the Stanton Moore drum academy on KZread and over the years he’s talked a lot about finding that space between straight and swung. His band Galactic is amazing and the album “We love them live” is a great intro to the band. Thank you for finally doing this video, I know you’d love it.

Yep, it's Conan O'Brien dressed up as Stephen Colbert, dressed up as Stanton, going at it.

Just amazing showmanship as well! Smiling and grooving throughout, his whole body dancing. Andrew, aside from a few stank face moments, smiling the whole time, too! Lord to be a musician playing with a pocket like that!

I think I watched all your Zildjian - live - videos now and this is my favorite. The groove, the tention he builds... Just struck a nerve. By the way : I'm a non drummer, but still watch your videos. Great work!

Hey, Andrew... I just wanted to say thank u for opening up my mind, to different Amazing Drummers from different genres of music.. Truthfully, if i Never would have found your channel i probably would have Not listened to all these Amazing and Mind Blowing Drummers.. As much as i love music, i realized it needs to be respected in the right way. And what better way to do that than to watch your videos, on some of the Best Drummers that the world as been graced with.. Stanton Moore Amazing... Thanks again!

So good. So damn good. Thank you 🙏🏼 sir for another super fun ride with Zildjan Live. I just realized these sets are so intense that I actually prefer my first watch to be with you as guide… to help break things down, to have chances to pause and reflect and process the *insane* musical talent on display… then I’ll go back (after some serious deep breathing) and dive back in to watch it straight through…. So good. 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼

I think one of the words you may be looking for around 15 mins in is "groove" lol, thanks for putting Stanton on my radar. On another note (so to speak) the bassist here is Mono-Neon who has a large part to do with the grooviness of things - being a bassist I heard the hype around him, watched a couple of vids which were ok but... then this Zildjian live series with Ghost Note I now get it .... again thanks.

MonoNeon has played much with Sput and JD Beck. In a recent interview he talks about how playing in the band WHATEVA THE FYUCKS with DOMi and JD Beck pushes him to be more creative. Nate has of course played quite a bit with Sput and Larnell.

You no that bas drum head was brand new before this set started and it's already beat down and down. The other thing I have been seeing more and more of, is alot of really good drummer's even Neil Peart use them old-school cloth beaters on their kick drum.

Did anyone else notice the reverse string bass?
