Drove 5 Hours for ANTIQUE SHOPPING! | NEW STORE | RESELLER Fun

VINTAGE HOME DECOR & Western Antiques | RESELLING in Montana
An oasis in the wilds of the High Plains! Yesteryears Antique Mall is the big and beautiful antique mall of the eastern Montana region, with a lot of fun, interesting and good quality vintage and things emblematic of the Old West! Ranging from to a giant Roto-Lette slot machine to a repurposed Model A wheel table, this place has fun, big wow factor stuff, interspersed with a bunch of fun collectibles from antique peanut butter tins to MCM barware.
But can we find things we can resell for a profit? Billings is the market center for a 350-mile radius, so a lot of the region's best antiques and vintage will be showing here at retail value. But there's so much to this place, we know we'll spot that out of place bargain if we keep hunting!
Upstairs we go, and suddenly our reselling juju takes over! Past piles of vinyl, Fire-King Jadeite, Pyrex and milk glass, we find a space where an old-school phone list is priced firm...at an amazing low price! Next to it, a deep ruby red teapot can't hide its very scarce 1930s shade from us. A bank of 50% off showcases later, and...next thing we know, we're closing the place down! We didn't even get to the basement and back rooms...but now we know, Billings is a worthy stop on our westward antiquing trips.
There's a lot of fun to see in this one, including:
Genessee Beer mirrors, Olympia Beer plaque, Fenton Atterbury style duck, Lucite phone lighter,
aluminum 1950s beverage set, Red Wing neoclassical dolphin ewer, 1960s scenic lamp shade, 1950s Halloween die cuts, Riviera 1930s dinnerware, WWII Army Signal Corps phone, Aladdin yellow lamp, 1960s diamond clock, 1930s beer s&p's, 1970s wire art, Viking red tail bird, Howard Pierce giraffe vase, vintage cigarette lighters, 1910s acid crock, 1950s baseball trophy, English brass candlestick phone, NW railroad calendars, Viking large orange duck, RCMP Mountie pocket knife, Campfire Girls dress, 1890s cylinder desk, 1910s American oak sideboard, 1950s yellow plastic canister set, Pilgrim Glass left handed pitcher, 1910s oak hall tree, cone top beer cans,
1940s platonite Moderntone glass, vintage baseball caps, vintage mugs, vintage plush, vintage Tupperware, Falstaff Beer sign, Inarco Mood Indigo tableware, Camark/NorSo Aladdin pitcher, Franciscan Coronado candlesticks, 1960s battery operated cars, Haeger lavendar swirl ewer, Royal Albert 'Our Emblems Dear' cake plate, Geisha lithophane tea set, Kelvin's monkeys, Warwick Ioga portrait vase, Victorian enamelware teapot, 1910s fringed shade lamps, circa 1900 patriotic mirror, 1960s Brands pilsners, vintage pet carrier, 1890s Canadian crest buckle, Russel Wright child's set, Seminole doll, 1910s cast iron tray, John Perry figures, 1970s Tonka toys, 1960s electric advertising clocks, etc.

I would have been in heaven with all the Tupperware lol. Been collecting that and yes I do use it, nothing beats it except glass jars. Thanks for sharing you need the whole day to go through this mall. My kind of day for sure. Have a great day and safe travels.

My mom worked at the Desert Inn in Spokane for years!! It was like a playground for me. She worked in the restaurant named the Moulon Rouge. It was a very nice motel kitty Korner from the Davenport hotel downtown. The desert Inn was on the S/E corner of 1st and Wall (or post pretty sure it was wall) It was torn down in the late 70's to turn into a parking lot that was almost always vacant. It's sad they did that. Oh the owner of the Desert Inn (Miss Desert,) always drove around town in a pink car. Just a bit of history about the old classy hotel motel. Lot's of stars passed through the Moulon Rouge cocktail lounge where my mother also worked. The cocktail waitresses dressed up like playgirls.. They wore Bunny suits. 🐰 🥃🍸🚬

That is dedication to drive an extra 5 hours. That’s the kind of distances you get in the western states quite often. People back east are sometimes astonished. My best friend was concierge at the Little America Hotel in SLC. Good evening, George! I used to have one of the Budweiser Clydesdales model kits like was on top in that booth. Those things are a pain to assemble...never finished it and gave it away. I'd like to find a lighter with the "Twist" lemon menthol cigarettes on it. I have a full matchbook and a pinback button, so a lighter would be nice to have. I'd like to have a jadeite water set, but I don't think those were made. Mosser has made some, but I'd want an older one, if they had been made. That Greek piece reminded me of Pratt Fenton "Old Greek" pattern. The colours and pattern were almost exact. Aaarggg! - that barrister bookcase. The Warwick IOGA vase was really pretty. I tend to like the browns and tans colour scheme on Warwick, but that blue one was really nice. That looks like a place to spend a day browsing. Thanks for the take-along!!!

  • @TheAntiqueNomad

    @TheAntiqueNomad

They sure are, I've seen lots unmade and few completed! I've never heard of Twist lemon menthol cigarettes, a good idea (?) for the time! I've only seen Mosser water sets in Jadeite, I don't think that was in the original lines, even the McKee and Fenton 1920s-1930s jades didn't seem to include them. I was surprised by that Warwick in that shade but it was interesting I thought. Thank you for coming along!

@@TheAntiqueNomad After reading the instructions for the model kit, it went directly back in the box. It was more than I wanted to tackle. If I remember correctly, Twist cigarettes came out in 1973 or '75, but I'm not sure about that. They weren't long-lived. I can remember trying to get my parents to buy a carton of them and just put it away. Unopened packs of them, now, might have some noticeable value. I look for items with them advertised/promoted. Always enjoy your premiers!

Maybe those Oldsmobile models should have been staged to look like they were broken down on the side of the road. My family had one of those.

Sorry to have missed this Premiere, but was working on one of our own auctions today. At the 7min. mark, I loved those produce boxes below the furniture piece. I also had those patriotic glasses on top of it as a kid here in WA. Those Olympia plaques were awesome!!! I wish I had been there, as I would have picked them up; dickered 1st though..LOL Absolutely loved the Kindo clock!! Did all of the items you bought go to the Portland sale??

I'm glad you're busy though! I really like all produce boxes myself. I remember the patriotic glasses at the Kitsap County Fair but they were hard to win, you tossed coins into glass objects and if you landed it from distance you got to keep it...they kept those up high so no one ever got them. The Oly plaques are good and I find them occasionally at prices I can buy to resell...but only when I'm far from the Pacific NW! I actually took the items to the sale in Florida instead. Good luck with the auction!

Love this! I think you bought the sliding telephone # thing that sits by the phone. I would love to buy that from you. Mom had one back in the day (50s - 60s for me) and don't know where it went. I have a great operational candlestick phone and would love to use that beside it! Any chance of purchasing from you based on this video??

Thanks for another great video. Any chance that at some point you might educate us on how you knew immediately that the law enforcement badges were fake? Would also like to know more about how to determine authenticity of military medals and badges. Cheers my friend.

Hi there! I didn't want to bug them to take them out when they were closing, but those badges were not struck deeply enough, were too flat a shade of silver and if we saw the back, they would've had safety clasps instead of the original old-style

Thanks George! My son and I hit the Aurora Antique mall on Monday to do our Christmas shopping... We had a wonderful time! Thank you for the recommendation! We plan on hitting the one in Snohomish next! My daughter in law had a blast too, and has decided she likes Pyrex (Of course she had to pick the most expensive of items, LOL) I think I will start her off with my black snowflake Pyrex... I love it, but I don't actually collect it, so if that is what she likes, it's a good start.
