A few years ago a bunch of taxis arrived at the bus terminal in Newcastle and forced everyone off the buses and into the taxis at gunpoint...Taxi drivers and owners only understand one language (not all of them).

this government is scared of the taxi owners the old government used to put these guys to order fast ,quick and in a hurry.

The thing people like is that Bolt picks you up from your gate, with the minibus taxi you have to walk for ages and get mugged on your way to the rank. Then you have to sit there and wait for the taxi to fill up. Hayi Bo. Taxi mafia needs to innovate and adapt. This isn't 1995 anymore.

Taxi industry owners are the most barbaric group of business people. They know nothing about competing in a market or adapting to market trends. This is happening in every province and the government knows about it. Sometimes these taxi associations stop people from going to work when they are on strike. Imagine stopping other people from using any other alternative transportation to go to work because you won't go to work. This could be why most job specs require candidates to have their own transportation. A real burden to South Africans.

Here in South Africa these taxi thugs still think that their coffins on wheels is The transport for the people , or else. Here in the Western Cape we have the BRT, even that get often attacked. The government doesn't nothing.

Agree with u is useless to invest taxi . We are approaching 4th industrial revolution . No more shopping in town everything is going on lane . No physical labours technology is taking over. People will no longer travel to work and home . Within 5 _ 10 from now all this taxis buses will disappear . Uber is future
