If they had this and ran a check to see if his DNA was in the database, even after he was arrested, they would have freed them sooner. @@onlyplayaseattacoswiththei9433 get real! Race matters and black women are not valued in America! Right before the Central Park jogger was raped and brutalized there was a black woman who was raped and thrown off a building. Was there a big search for her killer? No but Trisha Meili had a Manhunt because she was a white rich investment banker! Do you really think if she was a prostitute people would have cared? Her being a rich white woman is what made this case so important to the prosecution. You should look up the preppy killer and how he basically was had it on the back by Linda fairstein the same woman who prosecuted the Central Park five. Race May not matter to you but it matters to the people who have the ability to hurt others.

I am so disgusted with this whole investigation. I am sick to my stomach , the fact that this woman ( Trish Mellie) said she wished they didnt settle and wished this would of went to.the Superncourt is ruthless. I would of questioned her "allegedly forgotten memory" how do you remember everything before the attack. She goes into detail about how the weather was and what she did that day. You cant remember what happen to you when the attack happen. That dont make any sense at all. I bet if you ask Korey who was brutally beaten multiply times about his attacks he would give you full details. I have no sympathy for her, why would you go jogging in the middle of the night with head phones. When she knew the at that time the park wasnt safe.

NYC is much much much much safer today than it was back then. Those of us who lived through that era sometimes feel like it was a dream or a movie how much crime ridden it used to be. Out of large cities it is now the safest. Not the same place at all. There were 2000 murders a year at that time... Now there are "only" 300.. One is too much - but this is certainly preferable.

Wasn't there a woman raped in NYC and thrown off a building around the same time as this one? Was there anyone wanting to round up people and brutalize them for their alleged crime against a woman? From what I recall, her case went relatively unnoticed...why? Not to diminish what happened to the jogger at all, her rape was horrific. But why were all these men not marching in the streets and seeking justice, ready to kill, for the lady thrown from a building?

The worst part is that the police still defend their actions. Fact is - they may have been guilty of menacing and harassment (no evidence they hit or robbed anyone as some in the group did) - but that does NOT make them guilty of rape and attempted murder. There was NO EVIDENCE linking them and STILL they police and DA's office fight against the truth. It's sickening.
