Φίλε είσαι καταπληκτικός εξαίσιος, υποκλίνομαι στο βίντεό σου. Διότι δεν αρκέστηκες να μας παρουσιάσεις τη διαδρομή από τα Άνω Λεχώνια έως τις Μηλιές αλλά μας παρουσίασες και σημαντικό φωτογραφικό υλικό από τη διαδρομή που βρίσκεται έως σήμερα εκτός λειτουργίας, ήτοι από τον Σιδηροδρομικό Σταθμό του Βόλου έως τον Σιδηροδρομικό Σταθμό των Άνω Λεχωνίων. Παρακολουθώντας την "ορεινή" διαδρομή ο επιβάτης χάνει την μισή διαδρομή η οποία ήταν αστική, παραθαλάσσια και αγροτική, εξίσου απαράμιλλης ομορφιάς με την ορεινή διαδρομή. Εκτός από την επαναλειτουργία και της υπόλοιπης διαδρομής αγωνίζομαι και για τον εκσυγχρονισμό της επιδομής αλλά και για την προμήθεια νέου σύγχρονου σιδηροδρομικού τροχαίου υλικού το οποίο αφενός θα χαρίσει έναν σοβαρό εναλλακτικό τρόπο αστικής και προαστιακής μετακίνησης, αφετέρου θα αυξήσει σε πολύ μεγάλο βαθμό τα δρομολόγια άρα και τη μεταφορική ικανότητα, ώστε να δύνανται πολύ περισσότεροι επιβάτες να θαυμάσουν την μοναδική στον κόσμο σιδηροδρομική διαδρομή και εμπειρία. Ελπίζω με αυτό μου το σχόλιο να παρακινήσω και άλλους ώστε το όραμα για την λειτουργία ολόκληρης της σιδηροδρομικής διαδρομής από τον Βόλο στις Μηλιές αλλά και του εκσυγχρονισμού της σιδηροδρομικής επιδομής και του τροχαίου υλικού να βρει πολλούς συμπαραστάτες και συναγωνιστές ώστε σύντομα να καταστεί πραγματικότητα...

Σε ευχαριστώ πολύ για τα καλά σου λόγια αλλά και για τα σχόλια σου σχετικά με σιδηροδρομικά τμήματα της χώρας που χρήζουν περισσότερης προσοχής από εμάς, την τοπική κοινωνία, τους αρμόδιους φορείς και διοικήσεις όπως αυτό. Βιντεοσκόπησα οδικώς και μέρος από την παραθαλάσσια διαδρομή λίγο, 1km πριν την ΑΓΕΤ μέχρι μέσα στην Αγριά. Θα το αναρτήσω σε επόμενο βίντεο μου μαζί με πολλά άλλα πλάνα. Η διαδρομή αυτή είναι εκπληκτική. Δεν γνωρίζω εάν υπάρχει κάτι σαν αυτή αλλού στον κόσμο τόσο κοντά στην θάλασσα. Θεωρώ πολύ τυχερούς αυτούς που την έκαναν κάποτε και μάλιστα με ατμάμαξα. Είναι κρίμα να χάνεται ένα τέτοιο στολίδι και να πέφτει σε μαρασμό. Μια μόνιμη αίσθηση ντροπής και θλίψης καθ' όλη την διάρκεια της εκεί επίσκεψης μου. Εύχομαι κάθε επιτυχία στις προσπάθειες σου.

@@sidirodromeas Reopening the line to full extent from Volos (park) is a fantastic challenge. Having a railway line near the coast is not a problem, and the dimarchios of the villages crossed should understand that it is a positive evolution for reducing car traffic, if the link is operated with modern railway carriages, even electric to some extent...

Φίλε μου είναι υπέροχη η προσπάθειά σου, αλλά μην ξεχνάς πως βρίσκεσαι στην Ελλάδα, και η απαξίωση του σιδηροδρόμου είναι δεδομένη για χάρη των ΚΤΕΛ, μέτοχοι των οποίων είναι αρκετοί υψηλά ιστάμενοι στα κέντρα αποφάσεων. Το τρένο έχει πάρα πολλές διαδρομές απείρου κάλλους που θα μπορούσαν να τονώσουν τον τουρισμό ντόπιο αλλά και εισαγόμενο. Δεν ιδρώνει όμως τ αυτί κανενός. Σου λένε κάτι οι διαδρομές στα στενά του Νέστου, η του Μπράλλου, η των Τεμπών, αλλά και τόσες άλλες;. Κι όμως έχουν αφεθεί στην τύχη τους. Ακόμη και διαδρομές που έχουν αρκετή κίνηση όπως η γραμμή της Καλαμπάκας λόγω των Μετεώρων, έχει σταματήσει να λειτουργεί εδώ και 9 μήνες με το πρόσχημα των ζημιών από τις πλημμύρες, και ο κόσμος εξυπηρετείται με λεωφορεία αν αυτό σου λέει κάτι. Σου εύχομαι λοιπόν καλό κουράγιο στον αγώνα που κάνεις, και εύχομαι να μην είναι μάταιος.

Superb; thank you for publishing this. I did the trip several years ago, and they have tidied up Milies station since then; the diesel also looks newer and larger than the one we had. If I have my maths right (not a given!), the average gradient is roughly 1:40 which is almost as steep as anywhere on the mainline in the UK, and that is over a distance of 16k; parts must be much steeper and it must have been quite a task in steam days.

Όταν επαναλειτούργησε η γραμμή το 1996 είχαν τις Βελγικές Ατμάμαξες. Δεν θα το πιστέψεις αλλά η ατμάμαξα την πήγαινε καλύτερα τη διαδρομή από την ντιζελομηχανή! Η ατμάμαξα ήταν αθόρυβη αλλά λόγω του μικρού μήκους της εστίας καύσης από την καπνοδόχο έφευγαν κόκκοι άνθρακα οι οποίοι μέσω των παραθύρων έμπαιναν στα βαγόνια και λέρωναν τα ρούχα. Είχαν βάλει δίχτυ χωρίς σπουδαία αποτελέσματα. Το γεγονός ότι οι ατμομηχανές ήθελαν εξειδικευμένη επισκευή αλλά και το ότι το άναμα της εστίας έπρεπε να γίνει πολλές ώρες πριν ώστε να ανεβάσει πίεση ο ατμός, εγκαταλείφθηκαν. Έχουν πει ότι θα τις επαναδραστηριοποιήσουν αλλά μέχρι σήμερα δεν έχει γίνει κάτι...

Ciongratulations for this very nice, interesting and picturesque cab ride in a nice day and certainly hot. Very.nice views over the Aegean see in at least three times. I supoose that at certain moment the railway track (except crossroads/roads) is used for car traffic and the mount seen at right very far is the Mount Olympe.Spectacular and impressive the crossing of the iron bridge.The Hellas post has honoured in 1984 this itinerary by a stamp at 15 d.👍

I don't think you can see mountain Olympus from any point of this line my friend. I liked the stills of the steam locomotives - shame they don't still run - and the two dogs sunning themselves on the carriage balconies. That gives me ideas, as I exhibit a French metre gauge model line, which were similar operations.

From what I’ve read, KZread dropped that stabilization feature in 2018. I’m open to correction if this is not the case. Personally, I don’t see where this footage is all that jittery.
