@1:28, it's not the worst round about. It doesn't have obstructed views, it is normally clear, it is easy to navigate (one lane only), and only has three exits. People here, just don't know how to use them.

In March of 1998, a young cop wiped me and my motorcycle of the Robson street in Vancouver, by doing an illegal U-turn in the middle of the road. Claimed that I was riding recklessly, but luckily many witnesses came to my rescue and had some photos (no smart phones then), that the VPD, City of Vancouver, and ICBC had to back off... Unfortunately, I had only moral satisfaction as my dirty lawyer took all my money compensation for his work... F-ed up system in many ways, and nowadays is even worse ...

It's disconcerting how so few GVA drivers understand the simple rules for roundabouts. That driver at 1:45 who got out to harangue the other driver was completely in the wrong. In a roundabout the car in the circle has the right of way. That idiot had no business pulling in like that. I witnessed something similar twice in one day in and around Maple Ridge once. Idiots. I'm glad I don't leave in the lower mainland anymore.

Yielding to someone when you have a right of way isn’t courteous, it’s dangerous. Same goes with small intersections where the road you’re is continuous when you try not to block it in stop and go traffic but it doesn’t say “do not block intersection”.

Yep. Someone thanks you and turns left immediately getting t boned by someone who didn’t stop. There are three things I do as a driver/pedestrian. 1) I never stop except at a stop sign or marked crosswalk. 2) If someone is stopped on the road for no apparent reason, I come to almost a complete stop and crawl by them. 3) If I’m a pedestrian or vehicle coming into traffic I never assume the other lanes are clear because one person stopped.

1:10 - The cop car had absolute right of way over the car with the stop sign. Crossing traffic at the stop sign must wait until it is safe to cross the other street, and that means watching for the actual speed of the traffic, not assuming it. 1:45 - Cutting from the right lane to make a left U-turn (or any turn) ?! why is this sort of crazy smeg behaviour becoming common in the lower mainland? 2:40 - I have seen this guy a bunch of times. Rolling on down to the recycling depot on 3rd, I bet. 2:50 - Possible evidence that Burnaby Still Creek is not the worst roundabout, and maybe this Horseshoe Bay one is ? 4:32 - My guess is the dump truck driver was distracted by looking ahead at the bus incident 8:00 - that will not get fixed until the Arthur Laing Bridge is replaced, and BTW that bridge is apparently federal responsibility because of it being built to service the airport. In the meantime, why do they not just improve the signage at least ?

@3:11 This is westbound on Bridgeport Rd turning onto northbound Knight Street in Richmond. It's always backed up like this during the late afternoon. They put those smaller bollards in either late 2023 or early 2024 to try and block vehicles from making the turn across from the oncoming and to possibly to also prevent vehicles in left hand lane from forcing their way onto the turn off at the last possible moment. Of course, for most of the blind and/or overly determined drivers of Metro Vancouver, the bollards did little to deter them. The city tried replacing some of the bollards in June and July, but yet again a large number have been taken out. Honestly, this entire spot is a hot bed for bad drivers and near misses. On the eastbound side, when the traffic gets backed up like in this clip, you'll have many impatient drivers rush up the clear left lane to just before the on-ramp and then either force their way into the right lane or just stop in spot blocking the lane until someone lets them in. This, in turn, leads to other impatient drivers deliberately going into the oncoming lane to avoid the blockage.

Get into a bad head on crash like I did where the other person was 100% at fault (even ICBC said so) . I spent 15 months in rehab and still have issues with my head from the concusion... but ICBC told me that they do NO PAY OUTS anymore. So please, shut up about poor ol ICBC. ICBC did that because ambulance-chasing lawyers were also going after huge settlements from nothing accidents, and the court costs of every trial are also enormous. "Trial Lawyers Of BC" did not like that of course, because they were earning money hand over fist, and never mind people who needed actual medical help. But you are right, that the flaw in "no fault" is what to do when something is actually someone's fault. Drivers have gotten noticably worse because some people feel no matter what happens they cannot be held responsible for anything. Perhaps a system where insurance matters are no fault, but a person found at fault for any accident also has to pay a fine for breaking the law, a huge one if there is injury or death. That way "fault" for accidents still gets punished, but the lawyers cannot harvest revenue from it.

It’s only 30 until you reach the lights on the lougheed hwy. the speed will change to 50. The whole downtown district is 30 km an hour and the cop was going way over 30 km an hour and I know that because many people go way over 30 in this area and as a person that drives I can admit I even go over 30 sometimes. So the cop is in the complete wrong. That part of the road does need a stop sign badly because that intersection is a pain to drive-through.

PoCo shoutouts! The Still Creek roundabout is great. Motorcyclist may have hit dirty pavement, or realized he was going too fast for the decreasing radius turn and may have braked too hard in the back for the amount of lean he put in.

@@vancouversworstdrivers The timing of the clip is just so unfortunate because the last moment of traction happens behind a lamppost 😞Could have been the road line or dragging a peg. I'm new to riding so I can only guess.

  • @adam346

2:28 my guess is they hit something on the road and the tire lost all traction or they hit the throttle which over-loaded the tire and same result.

1:20 in this case I think both are liable. The driver failed to see if the intersection was clear or not. The police officer was speeding a little approx 40-50km/h. This might have been preventable if the officer was driving 30km/h but idk tbh.

Yeah I'm not sure the cops at fault in this one. You shouldn't speed on roads like that, but I think regardless the driver Crossing should have had enough of a clear view of the cop to wait. Like there are blind corners and intersections trying to cross Kingsway at rush hour is that require you to look out for cars going much quicker and probably with even more restricted view. This seems like a very easy intersection to cross regardless of if the cop was going a bit fast.

0:26 I don't know what it is about VW drivers in the past few years, but why is it ever F-ING time I see one, I get my guard up because they're about to do something selfish or stupid? 0:49 No problem. I'm sure they'll be fine retaking their road test in order to get their license back. That is, if I ran things. 1:40 No no, good sir. It's everyone elses' fault. Never yours. 1:53 See: 0:26 comment 3:17 It's almost like this driver wanted to not go home that day... 3:57 It would appear that this driver has just invented the triangleabout. 4:46 People want flying cars. Humans haven't even mastered 2D driving. 5:22 THAT is good situational awareness. I would never have been able to keep count as to how many times I've been through this sh!t here in Red Deer... 5:50 THAT should warrant an unconditional 1 year license suspension. If your actions could permanently change the lives of others, you need to sit the hell down in public transit for a year. 6:34 This falls under trip management skills. Is there a better route to take to get to where you're going? Look at how courier services do it. 7:33 Road test them.

Heres the thing about a decent chunk of these dashcam videos. Its people in stolen cars....they dont care about hitting another car or the car they are in. Dont get me wrong there are plenty of oblivious drivers and reckless drivers out there. But alot of the extremly reckless driving out there is people in stolen cars.
