@@tsb7911 Cold water is ok but not adding ice cubes. In Italy (Florence) people don't ever added ice cubes in drinks. However they drink cold without ice. I was looked like an idiot when asking for ice cubes anywhere in cities., even mc Donald. They still gave me some cubes in a very very very tiny cup. Check online. They said ice is very bad when serving a drink with food. I believe it too. Cold water but no ice.

I vividly recall playing stick ball on a hot summer’s afternoon at the local school yard when I was a kid. After a few hours in the hot sun, we stopped at the local bank office where they had a refrigerated water fountain. Boy did that cold water taste good. We all lined up and took multiple turns getting all of the cold water we could drink. Fifty years later and I am still here to talk about it. I look forward to your next video!

I love ice water. It's honestly the only thing that quenches my thirst. The past 6 months though I've beed drinking cold water from the fridge to try to get used to it. I can handle it better now, but it still doesn't quench my thirst. Room temp water just makes me feel full, and still thirsty. I did try doing only that for awhile though. I'm going to be in trouble when all the power outages start and I will only have room temp water to drink. I've heard that drinking ice water can actually help you lose weight because your body is working to bring it's temp back up. No sure how true it is though.

Correct but also WRONG! If you are a heathy person, with no underlying medical conditions have at 'er. However studies have shown if you are prone to migraines drinking ice cold water can trigger a migraine. Also If you have a cold or flu, drinking cold water might make congestion worse. As a study from the late 70's showed drinking ice cold water made nasal mucous thicker and more difficult to pass through the respiratory tract. In comparison found that chicken soup and hot water helped people breathe more easily. Another study concluded if you suffer from achalasia, a condition that limits your ability to pass food through your esophagus, can also get worse when you drink cold water with a meal.

@@AdamJStoryDC Headache caused by drinking cold water is common and related to active migraine P Mattsson 1 Affiliations expand PMID: 11442559 DOI: 10.1046/j.1468-2982.2001.00211.x Abstract The primary aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of cold-induced headache and to test if it is associated with migraine. Women attending a population-based mammography screening programme were asked to participate in the study. Fifty-one of 669 women (7.6%) experienced a headache after ingesting 150 ml of ice-cold water through a straw. Women who had experienced one or more migraine attacks in the last year (active migraine) were twice as likely to experience a headache from ingesting the cold water as women who had never suffered from migraine. Ninety-five women who had experienced their most recent migraine attack more than 1 year ago (inactive migraine) were not at increased risk. The prevalence of active and inactive migraine was 19.4 and 14.2%, respectively. Headache caused by drinking cold water is common in women. The results indicate that active migraine facilitates the perception of forehead pain induced by a cold palatal stimulus.Effects of drinking hot water, cold water, and chicken soup on nasal mucus velocity and nasal airflow resistance K Saketkhoo, A Januszkiewicz, M A Sackner PMID: 359266 DOI: 10.1378/chest.74.4.408 Abstract Nasal mucus velocity and nasal airflow resistance were measured in 15 healthy subjects before and at 5 and 30 minutes after drinking hot water by sip or straw, hot chicken soup by sip or straw, and cold water by sip. A sham drinking procedure with straw was also employed. Hot water by sip increased nasal mucus velocity from 6.2 to 8.4 mm per min, hot chicken soup by sip from 6.9 to 9.2 mm per min, and chicken soup by straw from 6.4 to 7.8 mm per min five minutes after administration. These increases were statistically significant compared to cold water, hot water by straw and sham. All values returned to their baseline at 30 minutes except cold water which significantly decreased the nasal mucus velocity from 7.3 to 4.5 mm per min. There were no significant changes from baseline in nasal airflow resistance 5 and 30 minutes following the above treatments. We conclude that drinking hot fluids transiently increases nasal mucus velocity in part or totally through the nasal inhalation of water vapor. Hot chicken soup, either through the aroma sensed at the posterior nares or through a mechanism related to taste, appears to possess an additional substance for increasing nasal mucus velocity. Finally, hot liquid might be superior to cold liquids in the management of fluids in upper respiratory tract infections.
