I started the Keto diet in March of this year. I immediately stopped sugar and flours, including ground provisions. I walk for 1.5 hours 5 days per week, since September 2020. I went from a size 14 to a size 10. The pain in my left knee is gone and the pain in my right hand is also gone (I was diagnosed with arthritis). I sleep better, my skin is looking younger and have more energy. I'm 61 years old, and this is my lifestyle from now on. I eat twice daily: 11 am and 6pm. Watching Dr. Sven's videos makes everything more understandable.

@@arthur88 yes. every time you eat, no matter what you eat. No carb/sugar, low carb/sugar; Insulin is made. so if you ate everything in one setting/ giant meal/ within the same time frame. your body would create less Insulin. also the longer you intermitt fast (No food) Glucogin is made which is the opposite of insulin, and your body creates H.G.H and enters atophogy where it fixes, reconstructs, strenghtens, creates all new cells, tissue, muscle bone, ligaments, blood.

I wanted to share this with you. 2015 I found out that I have acute kidney failure. After getting out of the hospital the best my kidneys have done is 34%. Usually their function goes up and down. It's difficult to be consistent with everyday life. Several months ago I started fasting every month but still drinking my water for the kidneys. I had my kidneys checked and they were at 35%. Today I got the new results and they were at 38% the highest they have been since I got sick. It has to be the fasting. I'm very grateful for your videos and I thank the Lord for wisdom I came across. I initially tried fasting to help my joints. After loosing over 20 lbs. It has helped. Thank you.

First time I did 2 days intermittent fasting and began water fasting for 5 days to break the insulin resistance and help autoimmune/thyroid issues. I lost 10 pounds and felt amazing. My husband lost 15! 4 weeks later I am on it again and have lost 5 more pounds. I was having UTI/kidney pain so goal was to get into autophagy and get rid of infection. I love that Dr. Ekberg has been very emphatic about stopping sugar. My regular Doctors don't discuss much about the benefits of lifestyle changes. Sometimes they even discourage my wanting to change. I have never understood how or why some people can be so discouraging about someone else wanting to change their lifestyle for the better. I am learning to not listen to the naysayers, no matter if they are the person next door or a professional person, such as a doctor. My Blood sugar has been getting better and better as I lower my sugar and processed food intake. Yes, I understand that I might not ever completely quit all the bad stuff, but when I think about the consequences of not doing any lifestyle changes, and how that would eventually result in kidney or some other organ failure; knowing that people like Dr. Ekberg are out there cheering on me and others such as myself to change our lifestyles, the incentive to change is doubled.

I fast 5 days per week, one meal per day Mon to Fri, one pop & one coffee per day, drink 4+ L of water per day, on the weekends I eat what I want when I want but because my stomach has shrunk so much I can't eat very much. Since I've started fasting (3months; breakfast and dinner, the last 2 weeks only one meal per day) I went from 240lbs to 211lbs. These last 2 weeks I've found that I didn't miss the breakfast, and I wasn't any hungrier when I did finally eat dinner....Isn't that strange!? P.S. I've never enjoyed eating a fine home cooked meal as much as I have these last 3 months.

@@rosesalerno2779 Strictly speaking, a fast is absence of caloric intake. Breaking the fast is resuming caloric intake. While a bit of cream might be inconsequential in terms of calories, it's not zero. There are probably a nearly infinite number of types of "fasts"... juice, bone broth, ACV, etc. But consuming anything beyond water isn't really a true fast. I typically drink black coffee during my daily and extended fasts, but I may or may not be getting the same effect as water-only. Some say caffeine enhances the calorie deficit effects, while others say the opposite is true. And perhaps it varies from person to person. For instance, i am sensitive to artificial sweeteners, such that if consume them, particularly in a fasted state, i see a corresponding drop in blood glucose. My suspicion is that this is a sophalic response spiking insulin without introducing carbs.
