People try to villanize Deena to uplift Effie so much its actually insane how Curtis get away with it. Effie was JEALOUS and INSECURE because Curtis told Deena to take her spot as a main vocalist, and since Deena had a 'pretty face' she was being the face of the group. It doesnt hurt to admit that Effie is the victim but also shes egocentric. She wanted the spotlight all to herself. And when Deena was doing her job, as a main vocalist, Curtis gave more attention to her than to his girlfriend, Effie then she got jealous and started to say they were sleeping together, oh thats also what she says to the girl that went to replace her. I dont know why yall try to make Deena the villain when you can clearly see she was being used by Curtis to follow her dreams, she couldnt even choose her movies or songs (thats also one of the reasons that Eddie Murphys character k1lled himself, he couldnt do the songs he wanted and also why CC left the company) cause Curtis didnt allow people to be free. In the end of the movie Deena even apologize to Effie cause SHE DIDNT KNOW that Curtis was stealing her songs and giving it to the Dream Girls.
