if your bow hunting, never have a stabilizer/weight past the farthest point of the bow, why you might ask? Deer/most big game see movement and when you have something sticking out farther than the main object moving(bow or you, draw) you only amplify the movement. Learned this from a Marine specialist/sniper. Might explain why they are back in cover and never have anything sticking out past the main point of movement that isn't necessary. Plus with the new V3 its so well balanced you don't need that extra weight.

I just got my hands in the new V3 31, left hand in stone. I have the Mathews rear side bar mount and stabilizer. The stabilizer is mounted in right side and the entire stablizer will move up and down freely. It wont tighten down frim that right side. I scuffed the finish a bit trying to tighten it down. Is the up and down movement normal? Seems like it should be tight.

Is there a set of questions that you can ask a bowshop to see if they know their stuff? I feel a lot of bowshop owners do not fully understand the mechanics of setting up a bow. If they have been to a "Mathews Bow School" will they have the right knowledge? Tough question maybe to answer. If a bowshop sells Mathews Bows do they "have" to be trained to work on them?

I know my draw length is between 27 and 27.5, but I'd love to see if I shoot better with 27 1/8 or 27 1/4. Of course, my bow doesn't have modules for that. So I'd like a video on how to adjust draw length and how to know when you've got it right.

Roperboy87, appreciate your responses, but what I'm trying to understand is how do you know when you have found the right draw length. For example, how do you know that 29 1/4 is your correct draw length and not 29 1/8 or 29 3/8. I presume you are watching for your smallest pin float, or scoring dozens of shots at each draw length to see which is best, or is it something else?

i would put a backup safety loop instead of just relying on that dloop while on the drawboard.

@@ElkShape Who's troliing? Dont you think you guys should push for good safety techniques? Im just pointing out the obvious that experienced techs should already be doing. MFJJ draws bows all the time without an arrow in it or using a draw tool. He's the very one who mentioned the #1 rule for archery shop owners is "Dont draw your bow without a nocked arrow" I don't blame you guys for not knowing but MFJJ should..hes an experienced shop owner. You guys have a great channel but don't treat MFJJ's technique or advice as gospel. MFJJ contributes a lot of good things to the archery community and your followers but he can improve on preventing potential dryfires. He should be showing newbies the right way to do it. Am I wrong about using a safety loop on the drawboard? LCA and other commercial drawboards come with safety loops.

So I'm getting a 2020 VXR. Do you go with the Mathews rest or the hamskea? I've never used a hamskea but it seems everybody has been using them lately. 🤔

I bit the bullet and switched to the Trinity Pro Hunter on my V3 31 and couldn't be happier. It is built like a tank, quiet and operates beautifully. I won't put anything else on my bow going forward.

I had the Mathews integrated rest on my Traverse its great 98% of the time. My last hunt was extremely cold and my bow got a thin coat of ice and the Integrated rest would not work properly. When I got home I had a Hamskea rest sitting on the shelf and installed it ASAP. I never had an issues with Hamskea, it will be on all my bows in the future

Podium Archery strings of course lol. Although we don’t build and ship. We build to spec for the bows in shop or that are shipped to the shop. Zebra strings are hit and miss as far as a good set or a set that stretches super fast. Tons of aftermarket strings out there that are better than stock Zebra strings. If I was gonna buy string to have shipped to me I’d look into Twisted X , JBK or GAS but there are a ton of great companies out there

I have the same bow, rest, sight and quiver. I recognize that vibration. It is a loose arrow in the quiver. Just push them up tight and it is quiet.
