    I make my own strings now. I had a buddy give me his string jig and I just think it’s fun to always mess with new stuff. Can MFJJ send a picture of that chart that shows the amount of twists for string length?

    I have built custom strings for my local pro shops since 1991 and enjoy seeing how you do it today. The materials have improved and more tooling is available for excellent string jigs. The process is like building your own custom arrows ... takes more time but you totally understand how to make your archery more consistent.

    Dan love the video seeing how everything is done was really cool I want to get new strings but I don't like the idea of mailing my bow in but if I drove there would it be possible getting strings made and put on. On the same day.

    I've been watching alot of your guys videos lately, especially the ones a out tuning, FOC, arrow weight and stuff like that and I gotta say... Either MFJJ is an archery tech guru master wizard... Or he is one hell of a convincing faker with all sorts of fancy terms lol. How can I send this guy my bow to get restrung and tuned?

    Why were the brass nocking points installed on the string and then shrink tubed? Was the purpose to add weight as a means of noise dampening? Thanks

    Those are speed nocks, their purpose is to stabilize the string and it speeds up the arrow

    @@greatwhitenorth762 they are called speed nocks because they increase speed of the strings. Picking up extra 4fps around there and stopping vibration as your adding weight to the ends of the strings.

    Can you go into more detail about building strings, specifically, you said white strings are the "strongest" because it has no dyes; but then you covered it with yellow string. What was the point in that? Just to protect the strings?

    I had a brand new Triax when they first came out. I shot it a lot and it ate through 2 strings in less than a year right at the peep sight! On the second string I had them put in a different peep sight thinking that was the problem, still ate up the string. I never moved it around! I loved the Triax but I sold it after that! I think they just have too much pressure on the string being that short. I never had that problem with the longer axle to axle models! Has anyone else had this problem with the 27in and 28in bows from Mathews?

    @@brandonhall5561 That sucks man! I almost wonder if these guys never have that problem because they put on custom strings and get a new Bow every year. So they don’t have them long enough to experience that problem. 30 inches or longer is the axle to axle length I stick with now.

    I'm surprised that he serves strings that soon after stretching. I usually wait a few hours for the fibers to relax, double check the string length at 100#, then stretch to 400 and serve.

    How long do you usually go before changing them again? Speaking of the ones you've made your way.. if say you did quite a bit of practice shots and then used for hunting, would you go a year or more? I'm being told that I should change my PSE freak sp set every year, bow is set at 68lbs and 31 DL shooting gold tips 340 with 100g field tips and broadheads with the lighted nocks, full length

    I've heard you have to stretch strings at 300 lbs for 24 hrs, you say 45 mins., Who's right?

    If u keep moving ur peep to fight the string angle get a loner ata bow not sure what the fad woth short short bows are

    MFJJ does not serve the loops of the cables. this is not a judgement but an observation as of 13:41 min of watching. Do they need to be served? You decide.

    From my experience colored vs natural strings both acts the same. No difference in strength or performance.
