Dramatic increase in Diabetes

Incidence of Diabetes in Children and Adolescents During the COVID-19 Pandemic
A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. 30th June 2023, Toronto
jamanetwork.com/journals/jama...
Key Points
Analysis of 42 studies
N = 102,984 youths (19 years and under)
Incidence of type 1 diabetes was higher during the COVID-19 pandemic compared with before the pandemic.
The findings suggest the need to elucidate possible underlying mechanisms to explain temporal changes
Synthesize estimates of changes in incidence rates
Minimum observation period of 12 months during and 12 months before the pandemic
(Also looked at incidence of DKA in new-onset diabetes during the pandemic.)
Results, Type 1 diabetes incidence rates
N = 38,149 youths
First year of the pandemic, incidence rate ratio = 1.14
During months 13 to 24, incidence rate ratio = 1.27
(Expected 3% to 4% annual increase trends in Europe)
Results, Type 2 diabetes incidence rates
Ten studies reported incident in both periods.
Eight studies, an increase incident of type 2 diabetes
Results, DKA incidence rates
Fifteen studies
Incidence rate ratio = 1.26
Conclusions
Future studies are needed to assess whether this trend persists,
and may help elucidate possible underlying mechanisms to explain temporal changes.
More from the study
Some studies reported an association between SARS-CoV-2 infection and new-onset diabetes.
However, (challenges in SARS-CoV-2 diagnosis), concerns about the validity of these studies.
Data sets used in other studies did not capture asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2
There is no clear mechanism by which COVID-19 could directly or indirectly lead to new-onset type 1 or 2 diabetes.
Purported direct mechanisms
SARS-CoV-2 entry receptor ACE2 is expressed on insulin-producing β cells
There is no clear underlying mechanism explaining the association between SARS-CoV-2 infection and subsequent increased risk of diabetes.
Population-based studies suggest…. that the increase in incidence may be due to an immune-mediated mechanism.
Proposed indirect effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and containment measures that may be associated with diabetes
(contrary to what would be expected based on the decrease in viral infections among children)
‘Catch-up’ could only influence the first year of the pandemic
Reflection on yesterday’s lab leak video and biological war
As someone who has spent a number of years studying biological warfare (BW) and ways to defend against it,
I'm not convinced that the Wuhan virus was not meant to be a BW agent.
High lethality isn't necessarily required to be an effective weapon;
it just needs to be able to incapacitate a significant number of people.
The incapacitated people are no longer able to do their jobs,
and the added benefit to the employer of the weapon is that those incapacitated people now take up more resources and more people to treat them than if they died.
Also, the genetic techniques that they used,
techniques that made it difficult to identify any man-made changes,
is in line with one of the main attractions of BW - plausible deniability.
Thank you for your thorough, objective and thoughtful reports!

I had two doctors introduce me to the carnivore diet when my A1C had skyrocketed and found out that I had type 2 diabetes. I drank water and cut out all sugar and ate 98% chicken, fish and beef with a little bit of raw spinach and avocados and after seven weeks my A1C was back to a non-diabetic level.

I am 56, after the 2nd shot, my blood sugar levels went crazy. I take care of an elderly person and knew my mom was hypoglycemic so I tested. It was crazy! It would swing from 200's to 50's constantly. I told my doctor about it and he dismissed it as I am just developing the disease. Now, no health history in my family, going back generations has diabetes. I had the test that came back on the bridge of prediabetes... After 6 months, everything stopped and settled. My diet did not change, my habits did not change. I am back to my normal sugar levels. My doctor just dismissed it. I am not even sure my doctor ever wrote down any of my post vaccine problems. That was just one.. There were many. I am just so upset that my doctor made me feel like I was being a hypochondriac and listening to miss information. He lectures me to stop watching it listening to "misinformation".

It's due to ther virus, not the vaccine. The increase was occurring in the 1st year of the pandemic, BEFORE the vaccine was available. If you'd actually followed the science, you'd have known that. Campbell didn't mention because it doesn't suit his agenda. Try listening to TWIV. They are actual scientists who have real PhDs, not a nurse who wouldn't know a plaque assay from his butthole.

I was diagnosed at 21 (about a decade before the pandemic). Perfectly healthy, no history, ate well and exercised a lot with a manual labor job. I injured my elbow and received a steroid shot for the injury. 3 months later, I had lost 30lbs, drinking water excessively and stumbling down stairs from weakness. Being younger and with healthcare costs in America, I didn’t go to the hospital until I was vomiting from the toxicity in my system from DKA. After a few days in ICU and after the doctors determining what it was, the doctor asked me about recent medical history and i mentioned my injury. Her next question was, “did you get any steroid shots?” I replied yes and she proceeded to inform me that that could have been the catalyst. Another doc told me you can be born with it but it may essentially sit dormant for some time… Not saying I know for sure it was the steroid shot, but after seeing this, I believe in the theory of external factors being the cause more so than I was born with it and laying dormant for 21 years… maybe I’m wrong. 🙃

Dear Randall, You are not wrong. Your description is perfect, and the steroid is what caused your on-going illness. Your case would be commonly referred to as “ steroid-diabetes “ , and is almost certainly Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus . There are dozens of scientific articles discussing a range of pharmaceutical medications that cause diabetes (both type 1 and type 2 diabetes). Please describe how you manage / treat it, (do you inject insulin), diet, etc. Good on you for providing this information, so that other people can see and understand why they have this awful illness.

I am a pediatrician in the States and noticed an increase in type 1 DM in late Spring 2020 - prior vaccines. There is another possible factor - low Vitamin D. During covid, kids were not outside as much.... Vit D has been shown numerous times to reduce risk if autoimmune disease and levels have been shown to decrease in viral disease, especially with covid. So please do more sessions on the benefits of keeping levels > 40 ng/ml. It is cheap, low risk of toxicity and few contraindications to taking supplements.

Multiple news sources are reporting "Biden administration opens door to study SRM". Hopefully people working in the healthcare field are paying attention to this. Who's looking into whether this door was already opened a few years ago? I don't see a single person in the medical field questioning the impact of those iron rich Saharan dust clouds or massive wildfire smoke during the years all this was taking place. The day president trump announced withdrawal from the climate accord he tweeted another seemingly nonsensical word that the press secretary said "a small group of people knew exactly what he meant". Does CoV Fe Fe seem nonsensical to you?

It can linger in the system indefinitely if you don't clear it out. The immune damage also leads to many problems, including sudden onset autoimmune issues. Thankfully, some fasting can repair the immune damage and stop this. Some benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fasting restores NAD+ to healthy levels. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' like spikes that are not supposed to be there. Whether natural or unnatural in origin.. Fasting increases nitric oxide release. Telomeres are lengthened and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors. Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. Reflexes and short term memory are increased. Fasts from 36-96 h increase metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release! After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles up to 1/3 of all immune bodies, rejuvenating your entire immune system. This helps prevent the onset of new autoimmune conditions, which develop through a leaky gut and damaged immune system. Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures. Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. The thymus also plays a vital role in fighting cancer. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered when fasting, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! The obese will lose extra tissue like loose skin while fasting, but the skinny or frail will have increased growth hormone release than the obese, which helps to make more lean tissue and reduce frailness. When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell required for viruses to replicate. What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many meds are dangerous to take while fasting. Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building. Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS. Fasting reduces pain and anxiety by stimulating the endocannabinoid system in a similar way to CBD oil. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance, which impairs immune function. One day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again! Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers. Some patients may need continued acid reduction medication while fasting. Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No. Except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose. Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells Lowering insulin via fasting virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism, fighting infection and cancer prevention! Fasting releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. When not in ketosis, the brain can only burn carbohydrate, which produces a great deal of damaging ROS the brain has to deal with. Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level. When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, destroying them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer. A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs. Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness or tremors, then simply break the fast and seek advice. My kid was diagnosed in 2017, so way before all this, but parents have known for ages that a virus or even traumatic event can stress the body enough for type 1 to show up. Virus of all kinds, serious injury and death of close family member have all come up multiple times as possible triggers in the parent community groups. So it makes total sense to me that a global pandemic and subsequent lockdowns would be causing enough stress in kids for those who had a dormant type 1 gene to activate. They say that lockdowns should have helped but we know kids mental health has suffered massively, they're only looking at the viral infection route to this, not the added trauma they created in the population from the lockdowns.

Working in emergencies during the pandemic, we saw a ton of patients presenting in dka who had no family history of diabetes. Eventually it became so prevalent that whenever a new dka came in, we would test for covid and a significant number tested positive. Dka had a better positive predictive value for C19 than even fever in our unit. Unfortunately being understaffed and over worked here in the state sector there was no study done, no info shared other than anecdotal discussions with colleagues. My personal feelings aside, clinically dka and C19 were definitely correlated, before any *interventions* occurred in our patient population

Add Poly Ovarian Syndrom, PMS, autism, ADHD, low testosterone, messed up thyroid and likely much more to the list. But instead of admitting their mistake they did the vegan gaslighting thing of blaming the victims of their bad advice and pointing out the few that could stay slim if not healthy on the death diet. The American Academy of Diatetics and Nutrition is Ad vent ist. The American Heart Association has fronted for them since the 40s. Nice to have you back, Dr Campbell. Thank you for your warm Independence Day wishes. Back in early November of 2009, I received a live H1N1 vaccine in the middle of that outbreak. It was affecting children worse than adults and I was working with vulnerable special needs children. About 2 months later I started have unusual symptoms like a bad taste in my mouth and a bad tooth infection. Within three more months I was getting yeast infections (including thrush) and lost over 20 pounds. My PCP was ignoring all the symptoms. I was an RN and was getting concerned. When my vision went suddenly blurry, I saw my eye doctor who told me I was diabetic and referred me to an endocrinologist. She immediately diagnosed me with type 1 diabetes. I believe that live vaccine was my autoimmune trigger. Yes, it is a life long disease of constant monitoring and intervention. I was 48 then. I have less years to deal with it than these poor children 😢

The psychiatrist put me on sleeping medicine combined with an anti-depressant. After three weeks, I flushed all of the pills down the toilet and told the psychiatrist he would not be seeing me again, because I didn't want to end up as "nuts as he was". I was 19 years old, but I knew that I wasn't imagining my pain, which was eventually diagnosed after my next pregnancy 10 years later as gall stones. I have never trusted the medical community since, and no vaccines or any other medications go into my body without my thorough investigation and subsequent permission.

I got told repeatedly that I was just having "panic attacks" due to my trauma. But often I would wake up from a dead sleep in this pain!! Or it would just come out of nowhere. I knew i wasn't crazy... Turns out my gallbladder was completely destroyed. I also had sphincter of oddi dysfunction. Once it was gone I no longer experienced these episodes... Since the death of my son and especially after that whole ordeal I have never trusted doctors since. With my son I followed all medical advice, and I'm convinced they killed my baby. I work in a laboratory and we have seen a lot of GAD antibody request (positive GAD is found in 75% of people with T1DM (type 1 diabetes mellitus) GAD is specifically an auto immune attack on insulin creation identifier) coming back highly positive for patients well into their adulthood, whilst this can happen, it is very rare. We received reports from referral labs we send the test and have had several this week. I've never seen so many positive GAD Ab tests in such a short period in my 12yrs in a lab.

Fasting can prevent this, which is caused by a damaged immune system. It also cycles out the irritant causing the problem! Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time. The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. Thank you once again Dr. Campbell. Our youngest son was diagnosed with type 1 in 2004. He was seven at the time. As a firefighter paramedic I understood the the mechanism of the condition, however the worry and heartache of become a diabetic family was a whole new chapter in our life. The doctors at Childrens Hospital, Oakland California further explained that there were three markers that all type 1 patients have. If any of these was positive than the patient would be diabetic. My wife’s family has a history of thyroid disease. They further said that had he not presented with new onset type 1, that he would have developed thyroid disease. At the time the research available was pointing to an environmental trigger, and they guessed that a person who was exposed to a virus could develop type 1 because of it being an autoimmune condition. In fact some people given contrast dye for diagnostic tests can suddenly develop type 1. So it does not surprise me that there would be this 27% spike in new onset. It is sad that until you brought to my attention, I had heard nothing about it. It is also interesting that a study done in Boston was able to cure type 1 in mice by resetting the immune system with chemotherapy drugs. This was pre COVID and I have heard nothing more on it. Thanks again, John Carlson

As a dad with a daughter in her late teens who developed Type 1 diabetes just over a year ago, I know exactly how she became affected by this. And I am very upset and angry about it. She was perfectly healthy before and there is no family history from either myself or my wife. The cause that of course I cannot absolutely prove could have come from an external substance given to her 3 times that is known to affect immunity and produce spike proteins. There is a strong indication of causal effect in my opinion. Even the manufactures own data sheet mentions type 1 D as a potential side effect!!!

You have nothing to loose, give it a try. Personaly I passed this info to a friend, her husband (around 35 then) had diabetes from his childhood vaccines, not anymore for the last 7 years 🤷‍♀️. He stopped insuline in a couple of months taking the infusions. From day one the amount of insuline he was using dropped considerably. Good luck.

Look up, how to fast like a girl, if you are a woman, the author is really good, she has her own utube channel, women and men due to hormone differences through out the month, do not fast the same. I might suggest that diabetes like other 'diseases' is not what the establishment says. Doctors like Dr. Jason Fung has been reversing diatetes very successfully with diet alone. I think after covid, we all need to reassess everything that the medical establishment has said.

I may suggest that this may not be as you say, because there is a stage known as pre-diabetes, where the symptoms are transient and can be corrected with diet. But once the hormone producing cells die, they stay dead. Much like brain cells.

I agree re reassessing everything the medical establishment says, however here Dr Campbell was referring to autoimmune type 1 diabetes which is irreversible, not type 2 diabetes which can be very responsive to diet and lifestyle change in the early stages. Dr Fung refers to reversing type 2 diabetes in his work.

Type 2 is virtually 100% diet caused. It is diagnosed when the insulin resitant liver starts making way too much glucose and the doctor finally notices. People with type 2 produce too much insulin stimulated by bad diet. After decades of this there may be an anctual lack of insulin, but that is not at the root of type 2 as it is for type 1.

I stopped my meds in the first week, and my blood sugar and A1C are non Diabetic. This works!

Louise Hay said in one of her books that two personality characteristics associated with diabetes are deep sadness and a strong need to control. To decide whether her perspective is worth taking seriously, all I can suggest is reading her book, which should be available on the used market, since it was published so long ago. I think the standard approach might help avoid the worst possible consequences, but probably aims low, especially in "a very bad case." Each person needs to make his or her own judgment on issues like this.

According to the Ethical Skeptic there has been an 11.5% increase in excess cancer through 2022 in the US, based on recent American Cancer Society data. My sister developed Stage IV lymphoma out of the blue in January of this year. Fortunately, she is surviving but the ordeal has been horrific. She also has stenosis of the lumbar vertebrae which is causing unrelenting pain and requires surgery. My brother-in-law and a friend have the same spinal condition developed in the vaccine era, and all of these family and friends are "fully" vaxxed up to and including boosters. My brother-in-law also had a heart attack that required surgery, and another sister developed an aortic aneurysm. My mother died suddenly shortly after her booster, and prior to that she lost vision in one of her eyes post-vaccine. A cousin had a stroke. My supervisor at work died suddenly in her sleep. I guess I could go on but you get the point.

Years ago, I got a shot because I wouldn't be able to go to public school without one (I believe 3 or 4 in one, I can't recall). Then, began to develop rashes all over my body for several months. I began to have urinary issues, to the point where my school nurse literally said "I'm going to train your child to not go as often" to my parents because they thought I was just trying to skip class. Many urinary infections later, I had to go through a surgical procedure where a tube was inserted in my urethra, I wasn't even 10 yet at the time. One of the most excruciating experiences of my life. Finally, after eating a blizzard from DQ and vomiting for days, I was sent to the er. Two different ones. I had lost almost 40 pounds in a span of 8 weeks and was almost at organ failure in DKA. Have been insulin dependant ever since, but thankfully, I got that vaccine though! 🎉 I was the first diabetic in my school of 700. At middle school, one more diabetic. By the time I graduated high school (around 2k students) there was around 2-3 IN EVERY GRADE, not counting heart issues and other chronic illnesses. Thank you so much for bringing up this issue John, if even one parent watches this and thinks twice, that kid will live a truly healthy and happy life, without needing to be tethered to Big Pharma for life saving insulin. The amount of people who die from rationing insulin because of insane prices is an absolute tragedy and my heart goes out to all those who have suffered ❤

I had not had any viruses or colds during this period. This makes me convinced that stress was the precipitating cause of my diabetes which i have controlled since with twice daily insulin injections. I have not really seen much in the way of studies of stress as cause. Stress can affect the immune system and it may be implicated in auto immune conditions.

For my case it was extreme high blood pressure afterwards. Over the years I observed and realized that stress/ trauma leads to grave physical ailments and sickness in different forms such as Cardiovascular/ Syndrome X types as well as cancers and other autoimmune types. High stress/ trauma is the trigger. I’ve changed my diet to reduce carbs/ process foods of all forms and practice Buddhist meditation. These has generated great results for both my mind and body. There are many studies on this that demonstrate direct co-relations between stress and the aforementioned diseases; albeit not well known because it does not sell anything. The studies also found that spiritual practices help significantly. The mind is the master of the body. Good luck to you.

The initial signs of any immune response include temperature, feeling unwell, reduced appetite and raised blood sugar, this is inflammation. Which could explain the prostatitis. I am also leaning in the direction of an intentional release, not necessarily to kill and maim but to usher in the controls and authoritarian rules and laws that we are now seeing as well as an effort to alter our perspectives and concepts of the role government and organizations (WHO, UN, etc.) have and should have. This also allows those committing the act (release) and/or governments to test how far they can push the populous. Nefarious to the core if tru.

They are actual scientists who have real PhDs, not nurse who wouldn't know a plaque assay from his butthole.

I noticed the increase in youth/child diabetes about 6 months after Canada started injecting children --- was shocking to see the patches on all the arms - met an MBA draft in Mcdonald's who was now working construction because he suddenly developed diabetes with no family history. As an old woman, he hugged me for listening, he couldn't find anyone who would believe him when he stated it was from the vaccine. A chance meeting with this young man who hated eating Mcdonald's but needed to consume food quickly because his readings were off.

Yeah, it’s increased because of the 💉. But the same toxin in the 💉 they also have been ratcheting up in the food supply so depending on a person’s genetics, they are ending up with various diseases/disorders. The body can only take so much before it breaks down.

Fasting can help a great deal with autoimmune conditions and can even reverse allergies over time. Even the dreaded peanut allergy has been reversed with fasting under doctor supervision. Some benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time. Fasting increases nitric oxide release. Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered when fasting, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus. Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. Hey Dr Campbell, there is also a problem with over diagnosis ,and over medication when it comes to Type 2 diabetes , i was given the diagnosis, and prescribed Metformin for three months, in that 3 months I gained almost 4 stone ,and my bloods got worse. I immediately stopped the medication , cut all sugars and most carbs out of my diet, for three months I regularly checked my own bloods kept a food diary, and tracked not only my weight loss but the regulation of my bloods, I'm now, 1 year later, perfectly fine my bloods sit at around 5 nml and I have shed 5.5 stone i still have about 2 stone to lose that will take me down to 16.5st, at 6'2" and 55 years old suffering from Copd exercise is difficult but I do what I can.
