Drain Catch Basins eliminates 90% of FLAT ROOF LEAKS - a Must have for Commercial Roofs

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

All commercial flat roofs have 1 thing in common, drains. if the drain is not functional, then it causes leaks, eventually a replacement. Installing a catch basin will eliminate most of all flat roof issues.
A catch basin collects debris from the entire roof in a small designated area. But, that is not all. Because the drain outlet is several inches lower than the roof, it allows water to flow out freely, without flooding the entire surface, even with all the debris in the basin.
This is a very important part of any flat roof.

You have great knowledge, can’t believe they used no underlay and also no primer on the board at all. Big no no. in the uk we call basins, sumps, always a great way to stop ponding

Never ever use mdf boards for ur roofing nor anywhere that is susceptible to water exposure. For the roof to be properly repaired, all the mdf boards have to be taken out and replaced with plywood that is water resistant. Then put base and retorch the modified bitumen

Can you lower and install a new drain on a flat roof without redoing the entire roof.

To save some time in cutting out insulation get a hackzall . Instead of heating up a trowel . Much quicker

you mean a saws-all, reciprocating saw? That could work, but what we did work pretty good and fast. The styrofoam melts like butter

Fortunately the roof is pitch. but you are right, there are many leaks. He could not afford it at the time, and I still don't think he can. It is a big roof

You never put SBS directly over EPS . There must be a recovery board or densedeck underneath . smh

You got something wrong. You think the granulated Torch Down is SBS, wrong! You have too little experience. This is a Torch Down APP 180 I used to and the existing roof is a APP 160, no ceramic granules. Because you are so used to use the cheaper Torch Down APP 160 you assume that the Granulated surface of what I use is SBS.

That will do nothing but cause problems. This is all wrong.Any actions we take, there is a reaction. Long-term This will be detrimental to the roof.
