Ppl forget Piccolo is legit a Super Namek after fusing back with Kami so his potential is massive. Then his non stop training along with his link to the dragon n dragon balls....the wish kinda had no choice but to be a big power up. Plus he's cool af and Toriyamas fav character lol

I think Dragon God Piccolo would be a better name than Orange Piccolo and Primal Instinct Gohan than Beast Gohan.

Dragon God Piccolo is a great name, but I think it’d be more fitting for if he achieved a form that actually gave him Dragon-like features (like horns, scales and a tail).

You're one of the few dudes who noticed that Orange Piccolo has his original Namless Namekian face in the form. Good job.

I’d like to think that Yellow Piccolo was Shenron pulling out all of Piccolo’s potential but because he’s been constantly training he was already nearly at 100% of his potential. As for Orange Piccolo this is Shenron pulling out Kami’s power which is why he looks a bit like Kami (when he was fused with the Demon King)

Man Piccolo deserves it and is the only character that it is cool to get a power up from the dragon balls.

Orange Piccolo was definitely earned and a natural progression for his character. Beast Gohan, however, is a real can of worms imho.

No, its all shenron. But technically its the namekians because they make the dragons. It is a power earned by trial for supreme warriors. Its also why the dragonballs were at each village individually on namek. It has been explained before in the manga from the elder namekian (newer elder, not the one for frieza saga)

Piccolo's power didn't drop from android level to kid goku level when he defused with Kami. He was only android level when he fused because he already trained for years. King Piccolo was likely at kid Goku's level because he never trained or barely did. I assume if King Piccolo fused with Kami, he would be barely stronger than a regular namekian.

Guru says that only a super saiyan could defeat Kami's original form, so he'd likely have been somewhere in final form Frieza's ballpark.

I don’t mind if they let Gohan go off to be a family man and a scholar, but this on again off again BS they’ve done since the Buu saga is annoying. Since they’re expanding on universal and multiversal lore, why not keep Gohan on as a scholar of the multiverse who can teach the others things? I’m sure he can study under some being in the multiverse to achieve that.

It's also something to consider that Piccolo is part of the warrior class of his race. If we take the saiyans as an example, them being a warrior race. Both get specific powers tied to them being bred as warriors and thus get power ups similar to other races as well. Take Jiren, Toppo, or any member of the pride troopers, they're all individual races. That means none of their races are likely warrior races and they had to train their asses off to get to their level and we see none of them have transformations. Look at the namekians and saiyans of universe 6, they're both warrior races and can take advantage of the same powerups/transformations as universe 7.

If there’s one thing I can appreciate one thing super did right unlike Z (mainly the Buu saga and BOG and RF) is giving piccolo something to do atleast. Instead of making him a male green cheer leader

The only thing I have to say about Piccolo making that wish was that Dende made that set of Dragon Balls, not Kami.

well I'm not sure we should make this much effort to make sense of it when the movie clearly didn't bother.

I completely overlooked the fact that Piccolo is asking for power from someone that he essentially created. Kinda changes my perspective on how he acquires the power.

Ngl man, I've been watching a few of these videos - smartest takes I've seen about Orange Piccolo, the forms name isn't flashy or cool sounding; it looks and feels like an unearned power up - yet the way you've explained this leads me to this conclusion: there was always a plan to allow Piccolo to catch up, same with Gohan - there is even some sense to both forms that were gained/earned/granted. But I still feel that whilst I'm happy we went from Big Green to Bigger Orange and Gohan becoming a deviantart OC no steal joku looking ass form - they feel a bit pandering to those fan groups - the ones who stayed eternally upset that gohan fell off power wise and that piccolo became a babysitter - even the movies plays into that by literally having him care for Pan as a child minder. I'm happy with this logic though, its sound and makes sense - Piccolo became stronger in some senses by fighting with and against the Saiyans and Earthlings - but the thing is, Saiyan Pride and Saiyan abilities drove Goku and Vegeta to ever-ascending heights, whilst Piccolo was just chilling on Earth. So returning to Namekian roots, regaining his connection to the people and planet of Namek and New Namek too. I just hope going forward with this, Piccolo continues his path of growth and that perhaps we get more of the Namekian in Super as the years come (a man can dream).

Lol, i think alot of people have a large misconception of what a main protagonist or main character is, but oh well, anyways, I think it is bs how picollo got so far behind Goku being that they had very close power levels at the start of Z, not to mention picollo achieved that much power at a much younger age than Goku.

I want to see a rematch between Piccolo and 17! The dynamic between those two is much better then Goku and Vegeta imo.

Unless 17 can get a power up, piccolo will win with ease.

What doesn't make sense to me is about the power of kami and the dragon balls. The dragon balls dont work anymore after piccolo merges with kami and dende makes a new set of dragon balls and upgrades them as well. So even if kami was the one that created shenron its dende that used his powers to create him once again with added power. therefore the power of this shenron is a mix of kami's and dende's power or just dende's power. Also in dragon ball super we see the namekians form universe 6 who fused with the entire population of the namekians were still only a bit stronger than piccolo. if they wanted to introduce the orange form i think those namekians would have been the ideal since the performed way more fusions than piccolo.

You said something quite interesting about how Piccolo’s greatest jumps in power were when he tapped more into his Namekian roots. This is interesting because Toriyama is now expanding Namekian lore by saying they’re from an entirely different “realm” outside of U7 (and maybe even the multiverse entirely). If this is the case, then that means that this will inevitably lead to Piccolo achieving even GREATER power than his Orange form.

@@Keegstar the one that states their on ssb level is piccolo and piccolo managed to hold his own against gamma 2. Doesn't make any sense cus later on gamma 1 still gets hit by ssj gohan ssj2 gohan and ultimate gohan. So that leads me to believe they are not ssb level. Maybe the max energy they can exert is on blue level like when gamma did that self sacrifice attack against cell max. Piccolo as also shown multiple times to not be able to sense godki or has sensations about what it is but he was never actually able to tell how strong someone is by sensing their godki. How are the viewers excpected to believe everything piccolo says? he was scared of shin because he couldn't feel he's ki so he assumed he was way stronger than him

I'd think its like some pent up training, 20 years then became into full swing once he unlocked orange and with it his true potential
