That's literally what they are, SSG is a base form saiyan substituting his regular ki for god ki, and SSGSS is instead a SUPER saiyan substituting his regular ki for god ki. Their names and even the explications for them are poorly written aspects of DBS.

This is kinda what frieza does, in a way. His "final form" is his base, and his 1st, 2nd and 3rd forms were developed to suppress his power.

I think they should have introduced ssb/ssgss during the scene where Goku black tells Goku that he slaughtered Goku's entire family.

Sorry but I think you missed on this one. AT BEST you can argue 2 “grades”. SSG through ritual and SSG through training. Using SSG with SSB is just a smart use of the form, not a separate grade. And different aura due to an animation style change and new techniques isn’t enough to say it’s a new grade of the form. Also in the manga Goku never absorbs SSG into his other forms. He just keeps SSG. So comparing the manga and anime in this sense doesn’t make sense.

I like the idea of grade developments for SSG. The ritual awakened his own divine ki, both generated and channeled by the borrowed energy from the ritual. During his fight with Beerus he did not lose all of the divine ki, but enough to lose the form. SSG's main iconic feature is that one can easily manipulate energy with seemingly perfect control. Instead of saying an incantation, posing, and focus on gathering energy for a developed technique, it moved with ease to their will. This is why we see creative use of energy during that state and less so with others by comparison.

I feel like I lost braincells listening to this, like I mean to not be harsh, but this doesn't make sense, first of all, using the anime and manga to compare one another is just wrong. Second of all, these "grades" the show itself in the manga makes it clear its just the regular SSJ god, I can understand these are opinions and such, but spreading opinions like this as if its factual does more damage to the audience trying to understand the form than elaborate on it. Actually, You're using captured scenes of the anime and manga out of context to further your bs narrative, all the times you want to talk about grade 2 and 3 the MANGA Clearly says its just the from being used to SAVE STAMINA, because in that period of time, both Goku and Vegeta didn't have blue perfected, so everytime they transformed, their energies was basically drained very quickly, unlike ssj god which is more balanced. Goku literally explained this to Trunks in the Manga when Vegeta is doing those back in forths with god and blue, its just to SAVE STAMINA, not some bs evolution of SSJ God. This video is just clickbait and taking things out of context to further a wrong narrative.

All of those screenshots they used from the manga only were talking about how much blue wastes a lot of energy and how the god form is more balanced, no grades nor bs, all of them talk about how to better handle blue, and that god form is just a balanced form. There’s much more than that. The anime clips are stupid at best since it’s just talking shit out of their ass, like, the abilities like god bind and the air waves Vegeta’s and goku use in god have to go with “grade 4 aura”??? Another thing I seemed to have noticed is that SSJG seems to be very stamina conservative. I can't recall too many moments where the form is super energy hungry unlike some other forms. It seems to have a ton of benefits with very few downsides. Overall it's my favorite form in the series and it should have gotten more screen time

That time limit you mention, isn't that bc Goku was trying to use it like a regular ssj transformation? Like when Whis was coaching him and Vegeta, he tells them to conceal their ki within their bodies

I genuinely wish ssjgod had more screentime and chances to develop as a form, to me in battle of gods it felt more godlike than blue and evolution blue. Ssjgod should have had its own evolution blue like form where the user ever so slightly bulks up or the self healing improves something of that sort. Such a shame at the wasted amazing potential.

Goku can literally heal himself with ssj god but because for this ability ssj blue form will be useless that's why healing ability of ssj god never used again.

Yeah I believe they still have the self heal, just takes focus and energy, but just as likely they can recover the energy back as well, due to focus or meditation like jirens meditation. Or through battle where they aren’t fighting their hardest an so they recovering energy through the fight as long as they don’t expend immense energy

Honestly the fact that they rushed into getting SSG Blue instead of giving this form time to shine (and spending more time coming to grips with god ki) was a huge blunder of Super. The way they ended up handling it muddied the specialness of god ki as a concept.

I think the Rachel had a time limit on it, but even when he unlocks the form again, he can't maintain God permanently and I'm willing to bet that's because Goku still mortal when he uses to find key. His body transforms to accommodate this. And that's also something that I think makes sense because the ultra is just a divine technique. When beerus uses the sign level, he doesn't show any signs of transforming why Goku does even at the sign level let alone the master level. So I'm willing to bet Goku's body transforms to accommodate the power, but the transformation put strain on Goku's mortal body as whises pointed out. It's also why whis couldn't recognise it at first. So I think until Goku truly ascends to become a deity he won't be able to permanently maintain the red form even though it has better consumption than three and more power. Which is why they usually go Super Saiyan wine Super Saiyan 2 and then jump up to guard or blue cuz if they need the extra power it's better to go gold or blue since the stammer of consumption of blue is still about the same as three, but it's way more powerful and the stamina of consumption of God is way better than the staminous consumption of three and it's also way more powerful

Ssg is one of the most useful forms due to its regen So if goku is beat up he should switch to ssg and then once hes healed back up He fights

I always assumed that Goku got rid of the self healing so that he could have more fun in a fight but I might just be stupid

I have an theory that the SSBlue is some type of "impure" godly form, almost like if Goku to become Blue had to "infect" the God Ki, merging with the S-Cells/Super Saiyan Ki, yes he became stronger but he lost the unique abilities that comes from SSGod So, Goku can still upgrade the SSGod if he trains, and can achieve some type of God Beyond or SSGod 2, that is certainly more powerful than Blue

I was always of the opinion that the ritual SSG was not truly SSG it was Goku leaking out the excess God Ki that his body couldn’t use and he “Detransformed” when he had shed all the excess.

I said some years back ssg should be stronger than blue. I always thought since its god ki and nothing else it should be stronger. It was stated godly ki outweighs regular ki no matter how strong you are. If they train using that godly ki only, they wont need to use blue as thats just a mixture of regular ki with god ki. I can kinda see this. Just going by how SS has grades, and Blue also sorta has different levels. But honestly it is just mastery. Though I’ll always call SS Grade 4 Full Power and consider it an actual thing. And Perfected Super Saiyan Blue is a thing to me. So calling it Mastered Super Saiyan God isn’t too far of a reach. I do say there is only 2 levels though. Super Saiyan Ritual where it seems to be way stronger due to the ritual, Super Saiyan God Mastered or Perfected appears after that as they don’t show any struggle being in the form.

I still think this transformation should've just been called "saiyan god" as super saiyan on it's own is originally depicted as a form that has a lot of rage. This factor quickly got taken out of the story but I think it still makes for a better fit seeing as how his hair is also not standing up and god forms have not have any connection with the more primal saiyan attributes. "Super saiyan god super saiyan" wouldn't have been called super saiyan blue either because it's not just super saiyan but blue but a derrivate of the god form.

SSG was a great step forward for Goku. Blue was honestly a mistake because it made SSG immediately irrelevant while Blue was immediately shown as weak when Freeza could momentarily overpower the form.

Ok i just realized this but super sayian god is like super sayian and super sayian blue is like super sayian 3 but there no super sayian 2 because someone forgot it exist

I just simply believe that ssj god and ssj blue have 2 different skill sets and abilities like when Goku kept switching from red to blue while fighting Dyspo each form had its own little benefit

I think that “ssj god” was intended to be their base form but with god ki, thats why “ssj blue” canonically is called “ssj god ssj”, yes, so “ssj god” shouldn’t have ssj in the name, instead it would just be called “god”form so then “ssj blue” would be called “god ssj” instead of “ssj god ssj”, and all you talked in the video would be just goku and vegeta getting better at using god ki, the only change would have been that they would be faster on they ssjb form, since they become flat out more powerful, and that power could result in a improve in speed and strength further than ssj god, I say that because u can clearly tell they are a lot faster on their ssj form than their base form, at least that was the intended thing but I think that a lot of misinterpretations by toriyama himself of the forms was caused by his own error at calling god form “ssj god” instead of “god”, or mabye that was a trick to call the attention of the ppl with the introduction of “ssj” on the name, but whatever, all of this just resulted in a totally brand new form rather than just a base form with god ki

I don't think those are different grades. Different levels of mastery sure, but it's not a different form. It's not a power up like in traditional ss forms.

Honestly RF should have had Vegeta get SSG instead of Goku and Vegeta getting SSB and Goku gets blue when Zamasu stabs him and reveals that he killed his family.

Technically wouldnt goku be able to go ssj2 and ssj3 in god form as he can already go super saiyan with god ki which is just ssb. Hmmmm maybe plot writers just didnt want that hassle 😂

I miss the OG 90’s art style. Like everyone else. I also wish there was some side projects, either canon or not, I don’t care, that expands on the old Saiyans. UI is not a transformation it is a skill that has an appearence change it is an upscale to king kai fist with added effects . kaioken is not a transformation it is a skill that can litterally be used at any time UI is a skill that can litterally be paired with any form . kaioken was used solo at 1st no different then UI kaioken was first added to ssj ( super kaioken ) then to ssb ( super kaioken ) ui has only been used so far from base but being a learned skill requires mastery and understanding to combine with a transformation ( no different then kaioken ) UI is NOT a transformation you are factually wrong calling it a transformation

SSG is trash, boneless Kaioken without muscle or aura. It’s one of the worst designed transformations, unoriginal & creatively bankrupt, SSB at least feels like an upgrade from regular SSJ forms especially in the manga where it’s much more powerful than the anime & UI design while being similar isn’t corny palate swap like SSG, actually having a badass aura.

I feel like being able to turn into Blue multiple times in God isn’t an upgrade to God but an upgrade to Blue. Goku notes that Vegeta isn’t losing any energy despite repeatedly turning into SSB which was the issue during the Champa arc, that repeatedly turning into Blue drains energy heavily until Vegeta had only 10% left in him to fight Hit. So Grade 3 isn’t a thing it’s just Grade 2 again but with an upgrade to the Blue form, Blue Grade 2 probably.

Or get this... They are all the same transformation just mastered by Goku and Vegeta
