People dont understand how much Gohan DESERVES the peaceful and non-violent life he has in Super. You can call it lazy writing, but in story, it actually makes a lot of sense. This man has suffered emotional and physical trauma like no one else has (except maybe Goku and Vegata; Now that I'm thinking about it actually, Sayians just can't have happy childhoods 😅 huh, go figure) He was kidnapped by his uncle at 4, and watched both his uncle and father die in front of him. Then he was forced to defend himself by his father's mortal enemy, and taught to survive on his own. And he watched 4 of his father's friends just get murdered the next year. And there's still ALOT to unpack after that😅 Gohan was literally forced to be a warrior for 5+ years 🤦🏾‍♂️ Granted its not his fault, but he always made the best of it, and followed through. So for him to be married, have a child, and be the scholar HE'S always wanted to be after so long, I think that's pretty fair for him

This. I can't even say the number of times I'd see comments on DBZ/DBZA/DBS videos and clips calling Gohan a "wuss" just because he'd much rather have a calm and normal family life like this. Yeah, he'll do his part to defend his friends, family, and planet when the moment calls for it, but it gets irritating hearing people say that he should just suck it up and take the mantle from Goku as earth's protector, even if it means betraying his character and throwing away what makes him Gohan. Like, have some sympathy and let the guy have some sense of peace, why don't you? He more than pulled his weight even since he was barely a toddler up to adulthood, for fuck's sake. He's earned this much.

Exactly I’m so tired of people saying Gohan is a nerd because he wants to be a scholar and not fight all the time when he never wanted to be a fighter in the first place he always wanted to be a scholar. Gohan had to fight for 5 years straight against planetary to galaxy level fighters of course he would want to eventually want to stop and finally just live a normal life and after every thing he has done to protect the Earth he deserves it.

"With great power comes great responsibility" Does he deserve the happy life, has he earned it? Absolutely. But if Goku/Vegeta get themselves into trouble, Gohan needs to be in fighting shape enough to protect earth.

At least his Master's dreams did come true in another timeline

Trunks on the verge of crying and imagining the wonderful life he always wanted to have with Mai, His family and Friends if Black never showed up or existed is so heartbreaking and devastating

Pan not reacting to "it's time to eat"?! If this was her grandpa, he'd go. Food? Where?!

Not gonna lie, out of the entirety of the Dragon Ball story, only 2 scenes got actual tears out of me. One of those was this scene right here. He went back to his time, killed the androids, killed Cell, even defeated Babadi and Dabura. Even after all that, Goku Black just ransacked everything he fought so hard to protect. I feel so bad for him. 🥺

The proud Saiyan Prince who wanted nothing more than to exact his vengeance against the tyrant who drove his whole race to extinction. But he was beaten and broken, leaving the honor of the Saiyan race in the hands of a low class warrior. 😭😭😭

Trunks really is the Niko Bellic of DBZ

People say what they say about Gohan focusing on his family life and how disappointed they were at the start of Super, but I would be all for watching a Slice of Life anime where Gohan's family and Krillin's family are the main characters. Heck, if they anime doesn't have any fighting, Yamcha could even be in it!

It's just like parents who want their kids to do what they think the kids should do... As much as I want to see Gohan as a hero, I'm happy that he gets to fulfill his dream, something his future self never gets. The only thing I don't understand is how he slacks so much on his training that he is unable to fight Frieza. Doesn't it make sense that after the Buu saga he should realize the importance of training if he wants to protect others...?

I think it is just like how we know that going to the gym makes us more healthy, but many of us would rather play video games or watch TV. Then I think about how highly intelligent people often put so much focus into their mind, that they don't because as muscular as those that focus more on their bodies. Gohan is basically a professor. There was probably a point when his schooling was so intense, that he didn't have time to train, and then lost his physique... then he probably got used to not training his body and not getting sore, and started to enjoy it... that is until his Frieza experience and his acting experience. It was like a reminder for him. It also reminds me of how in RPGs the Mage characters don't have much health. It's like Gohan was on the path to becoming a Wizard.

"If Black had never shown up, we could have had this, too." Trunks makes it sound like Mai left him for a black dude lol

Trunks could have had his dream if he stayed in this timeline since his timeline was erased. He could have stayed and have a family live with his mom dad and have a little brother trunks. Instead going to a timeline where there are two future trunks. Not only that he would have done great in the tournament of power

It's still _a_ Future Trunks that experienced the same events as Z Future Trunks. I think this happened because Kai of Time took Z Trunks to help lead the Time Patrollers, and caused the split timeline to exist where he wasn't taken. Which is Super Trunks.

@@ChrisAtheist Roughly. There's also a version of Future Trunks from a split timeline that survived the Androids and Cell, but where Goku never died. We saw a glimpse of this story in the Tapion movie, since that's when Trunks got his sword from Tapion in that timeline. That movie and the DLC mission in XV2 where Super Trunks has to fight Zamasu, Black and Jiren alongside Tapion confirms that even Super Trunks recognizes him, meaning that (theoretically) every version of Future Trunks has met Tapion off screen as a kid to get the sword.

You know what makes it worse? Apparently after he defeated Cell, he went to Namek to revive everyone lost, including Goku. If I heard correctly that is. So the fact that Zamasu came in and ruined his life ENTIRELY soo after that.................... This kid never got a break.

Unfortunately he wouldn't be able to revive him, Goku from his timeline died due to the heart virus and the dragon balls can't revive people who died because of natural causes, I think this extends to Namekian dragon balls too.

i know they wrote it for super specifically but come the hell on "if black didn't show up"? trunks your entire world was ruined by androids wich you managed to defeat and flashbacks we get in super suggest they never rebuild from that - what the hell

Take dende back to earth let him create his upgraded Dragonball wish everyone who was killed by the Android's and goku black back to life... (In super it's confirmed dendes dbs can bring back people who are dead longer than 1 year)

I can’t remember, when goku made Zeno destroy trunks timeline, did they bring the future Mai with them too?

you know, if they took dende and the dragonballs in the time machine, they could wish everyone back. Meaning the other dende / kami would return and their dragonballs would be back. Allowing our dende and dragonballs to return safely.
