Goten was conceived by Chichi before Goku died taking Cell down, so Goten didn't know much about his father till Goku came back to life again Goten then grew up alongside Trunks and the two of them became best friends, they learned to achieve super saiyan transformation and fusion dance together Chichi, however, always disapproved of her husband and children focusing on martial arts too much and would always be there to step in and remind them of the importance of education this is why Gohan retired from fighting for a while to become a scholar

"Wouldn't it be cool if I could fusion with myself?" And then there was Zamasu.

Goten is such a natural for what he does, Despite being small, He reaches the first super saiyan, But what I think makes Goten so different is That he doesn't take fighting seriously, but he's strong with social connections, including dating, And I think the strongest bond that he ever had with the characters of this show is with trunks.
