Despite the fact that magnite had advantage in both torque and weight , Fronx won . This shows Suzuki gear boxes and engines are so much sophisticated and well tuned .

Largest market, yes, for economy cars.
I m surprised that magnite is nearly 60 percent of the fronx price and 90 percent performance of fronx....hatsoff to Nissan for vfm car....and magnite is also 4 star safety car

Mine is 2017 model: 3 stars in euro ncap in 2017, 3 stars in global ncap in 2019, sane car no upgrades but 2022 global ncap new rules wanted 4 airbags so 1 star in revised global ncap. I would say it's a sturdy vehicle. Had scored 3 stars in euro ncap once. So should be good.

@@harbinderss very good, didn't know.... excellent car is Ignis...I considered it but bought magnite turbo.... my family didn't like the rear of ignis. My cousin had magnite turbo since 2020 he is fully satisfied (driven 90k) and quite liked the car as well

2500 rpm long torque band of suzuki is crazy 🤯🔥
The 1.0L Boosterjet is such an underrated engine. A hooligan to drive and a gem of a powerplant, first found in the Baleno RS in 2017. Really tractable, proper fun. Having had one in the family, all I can say is that the 1.4L Turbo must be a future inclusion in MSIL's portfolio. 3rd gear in the 1.0L Boosterjet is a LOT OF FUN! Competition for the 1.0L/1.5 TSI powerplants? MSIL with a turbocharged duo at more reasonable prices? 1.0L and 1.4L Boosterjet's should now both be here! Hoping it comes.

Yes. They should be the low volume enthusiast focussed engines in MSIL portfolio. They are too focussed on volumes. Having such models with good performance helps build brand image

@@VarunTomee-kr6nfFronx does have better aerodynamics. Just coz the ground clearance is high, don't think it's not aerodynamic. It's overall height is low, and it has a longer wheelbase than most compact suvs.

The main reason for Fronx winning the race is due to aerodynamics. Fronx is a lower and more streamlined car. Might be the drivers have also different capabilities.

@@tamilcultureandcuisines3145 That's a very good observation bro 👍 Turbo variant also comes in mono tone colours, but you might be right that it's not a turbo variant because it doesn't have the badge on the back. PS - I too own a turbo variant
Even with a higher toque and lower bodyweight, the Magnite lost both of the times, would be interesting to watch 2 more laps with the drivers swapped as well.

It's because of better wheel grip and traction on the fronx
Fronx has a mild hybrid setup , helping it till around 4k rpm for boost in lower gears greatly improving acceleration.
Fronx is amazing 🔥
Which track/drag strip is this?
You guys should do rolling races too to check in gear acceleration!
magnite has so much potential. it just lost due to tyre spin.

Look carefully at 1:33, magnite's tyres were worn out completely, that's why it couldn't win, otherwise it would have won easily

Magnite Turbo won against Brezza and Sonet earlier. Wonder if the tyres on the magnite where not that worn out, would the result be different? Either way, have been driving my Magnite Turbo CVT for some time and can vouch for the excellent driving experience. It extremely pulling as such and also has an additional sport mode which if used takes the car on a rocket mode.

@@Akhil-gd7lp You really think the Magnite was non turbo? Non turbo magnite is one if the most underpowered vehicles on sale, the fronx fully loaded would still have eaten it up
With more torque on offer i am sure the Magnite would win the race if its stretched another 100 mtrs.
Well the magnite turbo did win against the Brezza. Guess torque matters Next shall be fronx vs Citroen c3 turbo Or fronx vs grand vitara hybrid

Where's the turbo badge for the Nissan Magnite? If it was a turbo variant, it would have had the badge on the left side. And if it was a CVT, it would have that badge on the right side.

Took test drive of all three Punch, magnite, Kiger. Magnite feels the lightest. Punch and Fronx had the best handling and feel.

1:33, look how magnite's front tyres have worn out, they're completely bald, that's why it was spinning a lot during launch otherwise it would have won easily
It doesn't look like magnite turbo. No "turbo" Badging behind magnite. Usually turbo variants have dual tone interiors. But both are missing in the magnite car used. Not expected this from u guys

If you check the vehicle info from RTO, it's XV Premium Turbo. These guys have masked the numberplate and have put H instead of J in the thumbnail tho. However, I don't think this drag race is valid. I wonder how on earth these guys run Autocar India. Absolute crap reviewers with little or no attention to details. In short: kaam chalau.

GDI injectors and ECU Mapping does the magic in fronx..magnite without direct injection obviously should lag without surpraise
It's just the fact that helped fronx is shorter gear ratio which all Suzuki car opts for better FE. Shorter gear ratios will help in quicker acceleration..

Its the CVT gearbox in the Magnite that is holding back the performance. The Fronx's Torque Converter gearbox has the advantage in acceleration but if you consider the daily use, the CVT will be much smoother and more efficient. But if you want raw performance over all, then the Fronx wins.

@@_Funonwheels All I understood was that we can still have a race between the two with a levelled playing field which is both can have them(TC and ESP) on for the race.
Magnite is lighter and have more tourque , despite all that fronx wins , that said suzuki makes the best engines in India right now , they should bring 1.4L turbo for their brezza and GV as well and introduced this 1.0Lturbo engine in most popular hatch swift.
Bring the C3 Turbo and see the fun.

The second race start line was different for both cars, how can it is fair, probably brand content
Fronx is 16KG heavier than Magnite and the latter is 4 ⭐ rated.We can expect the same from Fronx.
Even being old Magnite still looks amazing n big too infront of fronx
Wish Fronx and Baleno at least is tested in Bharath NCAP or GNCAP and not mislead the Suzuki fanboys with "Thicker Sheet metal"

Believe me, Nissan has done a really Fantastic job, engine of the car is extremely smooth and you will barely hear engine noise when inside the car even at 90 kmph it doesn't lose its smoothness
You should also show the tyre wear of the cars before doing this!

They won't upload, autocar is very inconsistent with drag race videos, they show glimpse of next video and the video might come after an year. Either they should put such videos on consistent interval, else just stop doing drag races.
First thing first, who compares a hybrid vehicle to a conventional petrol car? Second thing, did you take the vehicle conditions like the tyres into account? If there is a wheel spin, can you not redo the race? Can you not swap the drivers? Come on guys, you are Autocar India, not the Gurgaon/Haryana drag race chaps! Why is everything so kaam chalau?
If you are having 2 races, you should have swapped the driver too The magnite driver spent his revs before the start

magnite tyres are worn out so it can't grip the road properly. Magnite has more torque. Change the tyres of Magnite result will be different. But fronx also good

It could be Baleno RS vs Polo. But now Baleno RS is discontinued. Another hatch of Suzuki with boosterjet and you can race with Polo 1.0.
Look at the Tyre grip of the Magnite in 1:32 . Still think Fronx is the winner ?
Nissan must upgrade that engine to direct injection like the one from Maruti, and that would take it to the levels of power and torque from Hyundai 1.0 turbo's. As is the Nissan engine is a hoot to drive and paired with that CVT is indeed a smooth affair in city traffic.

I own Nissan magnite xv premium,and my friend owns Baleno, according to my opinion I guess Suzuki has more better gear box and and it's well tuned,otherwise magnite is better in all way than baleno
I will still prefer Nissan... We get at 60% of price almost same performance as fronx with more features

Safety of Fronx and new Baleno is better now. Only that they have to be crash tested. Hope BNCAP tests are done on them soon.
